i started growing my winter beard when i realized that only one other man in my office has any kind of facial hair. and that's only a slim goatee. so far, only one person has even made a comment. my friends think i belong in the mountains somewhere living off the land, though.

Tim is now the only beardless HoPper.
I will re-name him Frank Beard, in the ironic fashion of the ZZ Top drummer.

the sports talk radio goatee?

yeah, it was weird seeing you clean shaven last time i saw you in town.

i cant do it even though at (almost) age 31 I think I could actually finally grow a full beard, it would still just look like I had been working on my truck and needed to wash my face.

I'd like to see photos please. As much as I love you boys, beards just ain't my thing. However, I'm still curious to see what you look like.

I've been thinking about shaving mine off but someone that's never seen me without it likes the beard.

I just did this too. I made it two full weeks but that was all I could handle. It didn't look horrible but it certainly didn't look great. I think if I could have managed another week or two I would have been stylin'. It felt too weird on my face.

i'm pretty sure that i've read that you can use hair conditioner to make it softer and that will reduce the itchiness.

1) The itchiness will go away once it gets a bit longer. Usually only lasts 2-3 days.

2) When I would let the 'stache get long, and drink beer, I would just blow the foam off into peoples faces (others might get their asses kicked for this)

3) Let's just say, in keeping with obner's new incarnation of a sex talk site, that you will *ahem* "remember" your girlfriend all week.

In my case, the itchiness went away after it passed about a quarter inch or so. Sadly, it did not take the compulsion to touch it and chew on it with it.

i find even my own beard to be gross, but i like having it. i feel guilty at the dentist. the itchiness goes away, as does the fear of having food in it. food on a clean-shaven face is hardly any better.
