Supermagnets!

From the warning on the site:
If you really need unbelievably powerful magnets, here they are. Uses include magnetic steering of nuclear particles in homemade accelerators, levitation devices, magnetic beam amplifiers, scrap iron separators, etc. Beware - you must think ahead when moving these magnets. If carrying one into another room, carefully plan the route you will be taking. Computers & monitors will be affected in an entire room. Loose metallic objects and other magnets may become airborne and fly considerable distances - and at great speed - to attach themselves to this magnet. If you get caught in between the two, you can get injured.

Two of these magnets close together can create an almost unbelievable magnetic field that can be very dangerous. Of all the unique items we offer for sale, we consider these two items the most dangerous of all. Our normal packing & shipping personnel refuse to package these magnets - our engineers have to do it. This is no joke and we cannot stress it strongly enough - that you must be extremely careful - and know what you're doing with these magnets. Take Note: Two of the 3" x 1" disc magnets can very easily break your arm if they get out of control.
Axially Magnetized (the top & bottom flat faces are the north & south poles).

We can only ship these magnets by ground UPS - they cannot be shipped via air as it will interfere with the aircraft's navigational equipment.

Once they stick to something how the fuck are you going to seperate them if they're that strong? If they had ACME written on them, Willy Coyote (sp) would be all over those fuckers.

Yes, but will it suck the iron out of one's bloodstream? If not, these are of no use to me.

I'm totally gonna have one of these delivered to our opponent's campaign office.

I was thinking you'd hide one somewhere in their house, get them to stand in front of it and then throw the other giftwrapped magnet at them.

I want to put these on my fridge just to see if it begins to indent the door. Yikes. The description sounds as though you could take over the world with magnets.

wouldn't all electronics be affected by these things? how far away was the camera when they took that picture?

oh, and i think we had one of these in high school physics. i could barely lift it off the table. and the table was wood, with metal underneath it.

I can't think of any reason why a digital camera would be affected, since the memory is electronic, not magnetic.

After reading that I dont' know how a photographer could keep the camera from sticking to the magnet.

Two, shipped separately, might be more effective.

It would be cool to see metal things flying about perhaps, but for what reason could one possible need magnets that strong?

And would you really want to keep one around the house for those few times, knowing that it would probably bend the TV screen from wherever it is?

I wonder if you could store it in a Faraday cage?
