listening to "when i'm gone", a new song off of his greatest hits, and it seems very average; a retread of something off of the eminem show. Is eminem done? (for those who think he's had a good album,) does he have another good album in him? or is he washed up at 30+ like in one of his songs?

no rapper can ever survive the curse of making a movie.

once rappers give a shot at acting their rap skills turn to shit.

im going with no. i dont see him being any better as a producer, since i find his work to be pretty bland.

Most people seem to think Encore was a terrible album, but I thought it was good. In fact, I probably like it better than The Eminem Show, but he'll ever top The Marshall Mathers LP.

D12 World was one of my favorite albums of 2004, but again, I seem to be in the minority when it comes to liking it.

I think he's making the right move by focusing more on production than rapping at the moment and I really like his recent work for Obie Trice, Lloyd Banks, and D12. However, when he's off, his beats can sound extremely amateurish.

i just watched that live show he did for showtime (in NY) - damn good. his delivery is incredible. i agree he can do some wack shit, but when he is on, he is on.

You think that one is bad, you should hear "Fack" off his Greatest Hits. It truly sucks.

hmm,
maybe it has to be big budget.

though Nas's last album is pretty bad.

i think he's done.

he may throw his hat in the ring again later, but i think this is it.

some have taken to the three new cuts from this cd nicely, others (like myself) think they're pretty meh. maybe its best if its the end.

Wow, the new tracks are that bad? I'm glad that I have no need for the greatest hits album.

actually, i was gonna type something about PRAS, but he was always bad and the rhyme took care of the rest.

I'm trying to think but this is pretty accurate claim. Rae hasn't lost anything since appearing in Scary Movie 3...

in my opinion, they're not bad, they're just kinda there. they can't compare really to his best stuff. i like mockingbird a little bit, but unless you're a collector or something, i'd skip if if you have his other albums.

I stopped caring much about Eminem once I heard The Eminem Show album. He says he does not necessarily consider this to be the end. More like an intermission. But it could be the end.

Red, Meth and Cube are the best examples of movies destroying rap skills.

Eiether its a gigantic front, or he really truly hates being away from his kid and going on tour....

he cancelled a whole european tour earlier this year, cause he'd be flying back and forth a few time s aweek ort see her, then got hooked on sleeping pills....

of course, thats just heresay.

i though 'encore' was the weakest of his releases, but still alot better then most rap out there.

I don't think movies destroy skills. Much like anyone else, these guys grow up, mellow out and don't want to work as hard for the green. Enter: Hollywood.

I'm sure Red, Meth & Cube can still flow.

cube still has the best voice in the world, let alone rap. I enjoy just hearing him talk.

And Eminem never really was as good as everyone would like to think. Some funny stuff, some pretty good rhymes, but the constant bs about his stupid wife and daughter and mommy got old.

Although, it made the white trash set identify with rap, and it let's critics like a white rapper, etc...

NEXT.

I liked the 'Ass Like That' video the one time I saw it.

That was the one with the cat in it right? He pretty much stole that idea from Harry Hill but it's funny so we'll let him off.

Redman never fell off. Sure, his style changed a bit over the years, but I honestly don't think any of his albums are bad. His guest appearances are still hot to this day.

he fell really hard.
mallpractice is one of the worst albums (from an artist i love) i've ever heard.

he can still bring it here and there, but i don't think he tries anymore.

cube still came out with some good stuff after he was in boyz in the hood. not so much post-anaconda.
but yeah, eminem is toast. there wasn't a new song of his good enough to deserve an ipod commercial? fuck, even u2 managed to pimp one of their crappy new songs on those commercials.
introspective rap quickly loses its appeal when you aren't all that complex of a character. like yeah, great, poor upbringing, problems with the mom and the wife, anger issues. anything else?
