Here's what happened (they're my Jets too)

1) Chad Pennington out for the year with an injury
2) backup quarterback Jay Fiedler goes down for most of the year with an injury IN THE SAME GAME AS PENNINGTON
3) They sign old man Vinny Testaverde to be quarterback. Eventually he goes down with an injury.
4) Brooks Bollinger is now the quarterback, the 4th string is now the starter.
5) Chris Baker gets injured.
6) Doug Jolley and Laverneus Coles have down years at tight end and wide receiver respectively.
7) John Abraham and Jonathan Vilma, despite being awesome players, can't carry the defense on their own.
8. Curtis Martin goes down for the year, though by that point they are out of it.

In short, the defense was ok, but the fact that the have averaged the least amount of points per game and went three or four games without a touchdown is the reason why they had a bad year. It sucked for me and everyone else cause we expected so much out of the team this year.

Oh well, there's always next year.

if and when cbs chooses to show a football game, they show the jets. and i hate them for it. because i hate the jets. i don't have any real reason aside from the fact that i hated all the people who were their fans in high school.

not that i hate any of their fans on here.

cause i don't.

yeah.

they'll get a good/decent draft pick next year. that's about all there is to look forward to.

Sounds like my 49ers. My dad told me yesterday that there's, he thinks, at least 2 guys from the developmental squad who are now starting due to injuries.

LaMont Jordan is now with the Raiders, and with Marting down they've turned to the tandem of rookie Cedric Houston and B.J. Askew to serve as lead rushers. And quite frankly...they didn't look too bad at all this past week. A glimmer of hope there

There's a quota on the number of black head coaches that are allowed to have winning records per year. It wasn't Edwards's turn.

It's all about the injuries. Could someone shank Aaron Brooks for me, please.

He went to the raiders? I guess they traded him? Was this a good move.

Is there anywhere that i can get to see games online?

Jordan was actually a free agent, and didn't really want to be stuck behind Martin for another season. So the Jets let him go and he signed a big deal with the Raiders.

I'm not trying to be mean here, but the Seahawks have guys from their developmental(practice) squad(Rodney Bailey, Eric Pruitt, Jordan Babineaux) who are starting and contributing - that's one of the things that I think has made them good this year - they don't make excuses for injuries - we've been missing our top receiver in Darrell Jackson since week 4(he should finally be back this week) but other guys have stepped up and Matt Hasselbeck threw for 4 TDs this last week.

At any rate - I'm really hoping for a showdown with the Bears here in Seattle for the NFC championship :)

Well, according to this story, they've been busy getting beaten by the Harlem Globetrotters. :D

And, please, allow me to make fun of at least one team. I'm a f'ing Lions fan, for Christ's sake.

FIRE MILLEN!

You've been 'missing' a guys whose main contribution is to drop passes. You should be glad that he's been gone.

Cheers right back at you - sorry for trying to hijack your thread then(though I look at it as more of a segue(which is quite common here on Obner)). At any rate it looked from previous posts like your question had already been answered.

Personally I don't really give a flying fuck about what's wrong with your Jets....They are a big market team here in the US we get to hear all about their woes all of the time, so I get a little frustrated when much time is spent on their woes and little is spent on the Seahawks successes. Sorry that you don't get the same coverage in the UK

One last thing, funny how you ask for kind words by the way but don't offer the same respect to other posters.....

British guy friendly words please. As in non-jargon or in words that a brit who has limited knowledge of the game would understand. Not..... Dear Mr petecockroach .... I don't wanna know which team you fucking hate the most.

A Browns fan has no excuse to intone this, this season. In a coupla years, once Crennell has a side composed entirely of his players, and is taking them deep in the playoffs, sure, but not now...

And, no, I'm not bitter over the week 2 defeat in Lambeau.

The Jets are worse.

About the Bears-Packers game, yes.

Otherwise, I'm not much of a Packer Backer, and don't care about the schedule.
