Thurs: pay cable-bill and begin Christmas shopping (Cheesecake Factory gift certificate for dad and stepmom; spice-rack for mom; something cute for a girl) at mall; visit aforementioned girl; makeout during Colbert Report.

Fri: work at theatre, five 'til eleven; maybe drinks after.

Sat: finish writing sample for possible second part-time job; make dinner (pork chops, dressing, peas); prolly see The Family Stone (Rachel McAdams - yum!)

Sun: watch football; work, five-forty-five 'til twelve-thirty (f'n' King Kong - which looks horrible, by the by...)

i go out a lot during the week, but it's not like a planned thing. it's more like I get the call. "we're at the bar". it's like a bat signal. for my liver. It's not as fun when it's -10 degrees outside and I'm drinking soda, but it still gets the job done.

DayStar always starts these threads a day early and it makes me feel like it's Friday.

Tonight I have my office Christmas party which will also make it feel like the weekend.

This weekend I'm seeing Polar Express 3D at IMAX on Friday which I think will be really creepy and totally awesome. Saturday, my dad's side of the family has their Christmas party at my parents' house. Sunday, it's off to the girlfriend's grandparents' house for the day.

Friday: finish Christmas shopping, then go see The Ragbirds at a bar downtown
Saturday: wrap presents, go see King Kong after my friend gets off work, then head back downtown where a friend who's back in town from NYC will be DJing
Sunday: up in the air, but I need to finish my resume to start applying for jobs in Austin

Oh, yeah, and probably some Christmas shopping, too . . . afterwards.

Well, by making Thursday my Friday I guess it means Saturday is now a combination of the real Friday and Saturday so I get a really long Saturday but have to work for 9 hours of it. I guess it works out as a kick ass Saturday overall, though so thanks!

Dude, once you go truck, you never go back; its a whole 'nother world. Can't wait till they put out something a little more fuel efficient with similiar power, but until then----fuck it, its gas guzzler city.

As to this weekend: I'm seriously rocking a potentially crippling cold so I'm gonna try and chill.

On Sunday, my mom wants to get as much of the family together as possible for a meal---she wants to feed her Boys because she knows that around Christmas, her sons have to succumb to the wims of their ladies and she might not get enough of the comedy show that is my family breaking bread together.

She cringes alot, but she fucking loves it.

Been to LA twice and while it seems a fine place to visit, I'd go crazy there from the out-of-control sprawl and non-stop egotism the place gives off.

Austin, meanwhile, felt like a perfect fit every moment I've been there.

But I'll still take you up sometime if there's still an invite to crash on the Dri couch.

I'm not going out for the first Thursday in a long while. I'm making cookies tonight.

Tomorrow, I'm not sure.

Saturday I hear there's big shenanigans planned, because a friend of a friend is coming home from Iraq.

well that's why i have that "i-don't-give-a-fuck" 'tude. and of course, the offer still stands... most likely i'll be moving in february into a bigger place, so i'll definitely have more room for people to crash. :D

i may be in austin in march for sxsw. when do you find out if you're moving yo?

Oh, it's happening, whether I have a job or not. I decided I have to get the hell outta Michigan and the best thing to do is just set a deadline and do the damn thing.

I was actually laying out the plan with my moving squad (moms and three friends) earlier tonight. It looks like we can pull off arriving in town the Monday before SXSW, getting everything moved in and put together Mon-Wed and then commence partying like rock stars once the music begins Wed night.

So yeah, SXSW is gonna be off the chain this year.. Shame I'll move to the city only to immediately destroy it, but that's the way I roll...

Well then, it'll be wonderful to have you among our ranks.

I believe this is where the ATL boys would refer to this operation as JAIL, but I have at best a slippery grasp of their lexicon, so I'll just advise anyone pulled in that they're responsible for their own bail money.

Tell me about it - I "was" a truck-guy all along, then got seduced a few years back by the mileage and cabin space of a hatchback. Sold my Nissan Frontier for a Toyota Matrix. It was fun for a while, and then I started getting really annoyed at what I couldn't carry in the car, and not being able to see around the traffic like I could in my truck, and having to watch out for curbs, not being able to scoot off-road to get around things, etc. Luckily our baby happened along and made very obvious how small the space between front and rear seats is in our Matrix, so I made a judgement call - bite the bullet and lose the car to get something reasonable (for me) back, even if it means higher gas bills, unfortunately. I can't wait to be back in a truck!
