I'm sure I'm way late on this but I just rented DIG! today. I'd never seen it before. Not a bad little documentary. Never knew a great deal about Brian Jonestown except that they were critics darlings, had a 60s based rock sound, and had live shows that went awry.

I came pretty close to buying that retrospective CD they put out last year. But just out of curiosity...what would you consider to be the ideal starting point for someone just now checking them out?

"Take It From the Man!"
"Give It Back"
"Bravery Repetition and Noise"

All are fine choices, and all are (to the best of my knowledge) available as free downloads on their site or as better-sounding downloads on eMusic.

I'd start with "Give It Back", but most of their early catalog is unfuckwithable.
