if you worked for me I'd give you a hand, pal.

but pass the bar, and we'll make nice--i always love lawyers.

law school is getting in my craw. i got offered a sweet job - director of compensation for a pretty big company. would have meant a significant jump in salary and would have managed an entire department - but just cant do it with school at night and with babies on the back burner. sux.

woohoo, just got our of our team meeting, and we're getting bonuses next week!

I also heard our xmas party might get postponed due to the fact that our CEO will probably be in Abu Dhabi on the night of the party. S'alright... gives me a chance to work off some of this holiday flab.

hmm, I wish. If I had my druthers, I'd like to lose 15 pounds. Whether I need to or not is a totally different story, but we're talking about self-perception here.

The company holiday party went bye-bye after 2001. Now we just have a catered lunch (it was today) that's nice and all but not extraordinary. What's better is our newsroom holiday potluck, which has far better food and a much more festive atmosphere. We've had carolers before, decorating competitions and in 2002 I brought in a miniature horse dressed like a reindeer. Folks bring in their little kids (we've got a big batch of 2-and-unders right now) and it's very familial and reminds how close-knit a place this is. We had that on Wednesday and it was great. Definitely one of the things I'll miss.

i didn't. i played blackjack all night and when you're playing with other people's money, you get pretty adventurous with the bets. i was up a lot, then went on an unrivaled stretch of getting 14's on consecutive deals, so I figured that was my cue to cash out. cashed out, and put my winnings toward the ipod/bose sounddock and some to the ipod along, and I lost both. to make matters worse, the dude that won the ipod also won the ipod + sounddock. BS. but it was a good time nonetheless.

Awww man, that sucks. I've found that playing roulette at those casino parties raises your ante quite a bit. Blackjack just gets me in trouble.

All women think they need to lose pick one: 5, 10, 15 pounds. in reality they probably do not. Like you say it's a perception thing.
