I just found out about this HST documentary that was put together by the BBC back in the late 70s. Apparently, it's got HST and Ralph Steadman on a road trip through Vegas among other things.

I've been itching for some new HST material recently. I actually just ordered the new hardcover edition of "The Curse of Lono" from amazon.

Has anyone seen this BBC doc? It's on the Criterion edition of the Fear and Loathing in LV DVD. However, I'm not sure if it's worth $30 just to get this documentary.

I've seen the FFLV movie and thought it was okay, but I don't plan on watching it again. FFLV is one of my favorite books so I'd rather be able to re-read it occasionally without thinking of Johnny Depp, et al.

Here's some IMDB info. about the documentary...

http://imdb.com/title/tt0362635/

I would just rent it but I haven't seen the Criterion edition at any of my local movie outlets.

I have heard of this, but never knew of availability.

Have you read Curse of Lono? One of my fave's of his, and the new version looks sick.

Directly where shit like Frank's Can and "Playing Hurricane" come from.

I haven't read Lono. It's been out of print for so long I've never even seen a copy. I'm very excited because I've heard it's pretty awesome.

Amazon has the hardcover for like $35. I ordered like a week or so ago and it's supposed to arrive when I'm out of town for Christmas. Suck! So I won't be able to read it until I get home on the 27th.

Yeah, its a great book and I am finally gonna have my own copy soon (I'd really rather not go into how I passed up a special printing first edition for next to nothing many years ago)

Fucking great book, though. The source for my AIM screename (geneskinner)

The Criterion F&L = completely worth it... I got it last year with some Boarders gift certificates and their annual "Buy 3 get the 4th free" DVD deal w/ some season boxes. The doc is pretty rad...
