The Broken Family Band will be ignored for the third year in a row.

That is a great album. I am making a mix and was skimming through it and was floored. I think the song that will make it will be “Devil In The Detains.” I hope to hear it a few more times cause I have overlooked it until now.

Funeral is the best album of this year, I heard it for about the sixth time this last weekend and made me change my number one. Will be very surprised if it’s not Pitchfork’s number one album as well. They need to get some credibility back after naming Rapture best of last year and Interpol over Wilco the year before.

np: Fiery Furnaces – Blueberry Boat

"Devil In The Details" was from last years Cold Water Songs.

They released a mini-album (with 7 or 8 tracks on it) this year called 'Jesus Songs' which is probably their most accomplished work yet.

I can accept when people scoff at my Melt Banana, Venetian Snares or Shitmat listening ways.

Fine, that's not everybodies cup of tea. But the overwhelming majority of Obnerians would love The Broken Family Band if they only gave them a chance. Seriously you have got to get into this band!

Even though I don't like it, I'd be surprised in Wilco's A Ghost is Born isn't at least in the top 3 and it would be my guess at #1 just based on the lowest common denominator factor.

Anyone who thinks Kayne West has a shot is delusional....don't you guys remember that probably about 1/3 of the board doesn't listen to hip hop.

I will think I'm such a genius if and when Arcade Fire top the list. Who remembers me praising them to you ages ago, saying you all are gonna love this band some day?

I remember.

Me too. I'm glad to see some others joining the I&W darkhorse as well.

You two are my favourites.

I seem to remember a lot of votes going to Animal Collective awhile back. I dunno about that more recent poll, though.
AND, to catch up on the rest of this thread:

Iron & Wine is for sure a top 3 for me and apparently many others. Good news.

Ish, I totally remember your thread: Some of you are going to like this. So then I read that cover story in Exclaim! and got all excited. The album is pretty good but I gotta see the live show and have been unable to so far. :(
