It's a shame that the best album i heard this years was by a group that no one's heard of. There's no point of me adding them to the list, but if you'd here ta hear it, here it go

Good crunch but the lead singer is ordinary and none of the songs are memorable. They need to ditch the commercial modern rock trappings and go all out Queensryche-Kings X-like, get rid of the late 90's sound.

Gotta admit street teaming is more effective when you can instantly stream the whole album. Even if I never need to hear this again.

Ha no i'm not a "Street Teamer". The fact is i saw this band live and the vocal harmonies sound just as good as they do on the record, and the fact is they deserve some bump. Also i'm the type of person who likes songs that aren't instantly catchy, i like stuff the grows on you, because its usually a bit more thought out. This album definately grew on me

Guys- please be careful not to re-add albums already on the list.

dr winston- that Magnolia Electric Co. album was already on there.

Haq - can you fix that?

Really? I did check first and only saw a different Magnolia Electric Co album.

There are three Magnolia Electric Co. releases in 2005 and I added them all in November.

Yeah i haven't seen that check yet but if you feel like sendin it i'll hit you with a PO box. Don't you think if i was paid to promote, it would be for my own band? I mean look in my freakin signature.

1. That's not how street teaming works, of course. Some tiny label pays shmucks to come onto message boards and "hype" bands on the label. You know, Generate Some Buzz! Get the juices flowing! Spread the word! Stealth Market to people who don't want to be advertised to! You don't get paid to hype your own band, einstein.
2. Non-street teamers don't show up on a board with a signature chock-full of some unheard-of mediocre band, and mention that band in 3 of their 4 first posts. See: Oldbulee, Chowgurt, Cemetery Polka, etc. ...<-- is how you newbie.

Take it hipinion.

Ah and you know all this from your extensive work in the music business where you and your cover band toured the local bar scene.

I got my "Reagan Lies" t-shirt on right now. I'm spinning Blue Riddim Band's "Nancy Reagan." People Under The Stairs is in my betamax. And later I plan on "tramping the dirt down" on Maggie's hypothetical grave, while humming "Fletcher Memorial Home."

I don't think that's fair. Domestic 2005 releases should be included...not everyone purchases imports or downloads prior to the domestic release date.

Just sayin'.

Yeah, and not everyone purchases or hears 1965 albums before 2005 either.

Also, adding the albums again would screw up Haq's charts.

so are you saying we can't add any more or it will screw up the polls? I have a few things on order that I'd expect might make my cut. But I don't really have to add them as I'll probably be the only vote they'd get anyway.

I've gotta disagree with your 1965 vs 2005 statement though. Its a big difference between things that are released for the first time in the US and are relatively recent releases in other countries and something that's been available for 40 years.

The whole first release date in the world is its release date everywhere came directly in response to the ease of downloading stuff for free via p2p networks. I don't lecture people that its wrong to download but I do resent that people seem to think everyone should think its right and do it. I buy a ton of imports but I'm not going to buy everything as an import when I know they'll be available in less than 6 months for half the price.

My own rule is that I'll vote for something if I've never heard it before its US release. And if I buy something in December as an Import and don't really digest it until the next year, and it gets US release the next year, I still might vote for it that next year.

To hell with that, I might just vote for all 1965 releases out of protest. ;)

Nothing bad will happen to my polls. But the poll only pulls from things listed on Haq's charts as 2005 releases. If you re-add an album already on Haq's chart and put 2005 as the release date, then it will be listed on the Charts twice. That's what I meant by screw up the charts.

Ok cool...I wasn't planning to add anything that's already on there with a different year.
