nope.. i'm going to SF for NYE.

the thing that's cool about giant is partying in the middle of downtown because they block off a section. i went to spundae a few years ago, and they closed off hollywood blvd. it was awesome. but this year's lineup doesn't appeal to me much.

On the rock side have Flaming Lips is good enough.

On the DJ side having Marques Wyatt, John Digweed, Jason Bentley and throw in the house god Christopher Lawrence and I’m sold. I am and old schooler from the early 90’s and these DJ back then were the best of the best. Apparently though I know nothing of good dance music but have listened to a good three years of the best and world class DJ’s to ever have come to Los Angeles or San Francisco…

Have fun in San Francisco D. I want to see if I can pull this night off, anyone know the price?

Hahahaha! Christopher Lawrence is NOT the "house god" -- that boy spins trance. And, Jason Bentley usually sucks live. Now, Marques Wyatt..he definitely would be a house god.

Actually that is what I meant, I’m hoped up on so much cold medicine it has affected my brain. Christopher Lawrence All Or Nothing was my favorite trance record of last year, plus I like trance better these days anyways…

I'm seriously considering going only cuz there are no good bands playing in the smaller clubs. And because I've nothing else to do. It's not like I can drink and party it up with friends at someone's home.

Problem = I don't wanna go alone.

Cost is $80 or $150 if you want VIP status -- whatever the hell that means.

Yeah, I was going to solve your problem but they ask if I could work until kind of late that day today. I decided I could use the cash moreso than spending it, so I won’t be going with my friend Rob (plus?) after all.

Thanks for thinking of me. I'll probably go alone. Who knows? I just might see people I know or make a new friend.

house god? hee hee, christopher lawrence is king of trance. if you like trance, digweed & lawrence will make good for that. marques wyatt is good deep, soulful house- but he tends to be hit or miss. if the house lineup was stronger, i would've stayed in la possibly but i'm going to see julius papp and frankie feliciano in sf instead.

the cost of the ticket is around $80-100 me thinks. it's not worth buying a "vip" ticket because frankly, EVERYONE is "vip" in la. ;) wait. i want to say the vip area has an open bar (i think they did last year- a few friends of mine told me it was an open bar). but i'd check on that before purchasing the vip ticket.

regardless it should still be a fun party- like i said before, shutting down blocks of downtown la and partying there is fuckin rad.

I went to this a few years back because it was on Hollywood & I lived surface street close & I had so many friends going for PVD. I ended up paying $75 to hear Marques Wyatt, whom I love, but plays in LA weekly. I did get a free VIP pass though (aka OPEN BAR)

Problem with these events is they don't give the DJ's enough time to properly build a set. Having Digweed play 2 hours is sacreligious IMO. I used to go to Liquified just to hear Sasha & Digweed program the hell of a 8-10 hour set & then ignore Prog House & Trance for the next 364 days & do it again the next July 3rd.
