I would argue that that was actually this year. It may get bigger next year, but noise definitely went overground this year.

I concur, but I think next year it will be huge.

I agree that it will progress (*see my initial post), but how could it possibly be "huge"? I do agree that this was the year of noise, but that it should bleed into the coming year.

Noisy bands that I expect you'll hear something of next year: Mouthus, Aa, Dreamcatcher, Thames, Crude Hill ... I guess ... definitely Mouthus.

Best band on the planet no one REALLY cares about?

I predict Johnny Taint's next single "Poopoo Monger Man" will pwn.

A mysterious clique of Juneau based, indie-loving, fur trappers and gold prospectors will become the dominant group on Obner.

The Shambolic Trumpets finally break out of the underground.

- Gwen Stefani will become pregnant. Madonna will get jealous and try to have another one. Gwyneth Paltrow will beat her to it.

- Jamie Foxx will make another album

- Mariah Carey will balloon another 20 pounds and still claim she's a size 10; a fan will "accidentally" pop her with a Sharpie and she'll explode; dogs around the world will rejoice.

- not musical, but Dave Chapelle will come back with a vengeance

Arcade Fire will release a vastly different second album, provoking cries of bed-shitting.

Decemberists will release a soundtrack to Oliver Twist, (the book.)

Oh, and the sun will rise in the east, we'll all need oxygen, and beer will continue to be delicious.

We need an "if they mated..." for Gwen and Gavin.

... Oh, wait! I think I have it. Gwen's platinum locks, Gavin's height and gangliness.

One thing's for sure - it would grow up to make shitty music.

Ryan Adams releases his poo in a CD package. It goes platinum, overshadowing his most earnest and well-crafted album to date, which he didn't give the details of to Pitchfork before releasing.
