This is a no-brainer for me. Violent Femmes is a top 10 all-timer.

Some others that got quality listens in the Tamer household; Murmer, High Land, Hard Rain (Aztec Camera), Porcupines (Bunnymen), Swordfishtrombones, Script of the Bridge (Chameleons), Feline (The Stranglers - highly underrated), Soul Mining. A good and important year in my personaly musical development.

Spade, while also hating Black People, hates The Rolling Stones...

And lest you think this album sucks, listen to "She Was Hot," "Wanna Hold You," and "All the Way Down" -- the latter being possibly the best STones song of the 80s.

never heard Undercover but I can't imagine it even being in Loogar's top 10 of Stones records.

While the fact that it spawned one of the most REDONK videos of all time ("Under Cover of the Night") pushes this way high on the list, it still loses out to Violent Femmes.

Odd that no one else has mentioned this. Isn't Power, Corruption & Lies an '83 release, or was that just a US date?

I'm not the biggest fan of them, but I thought a lot of you guys were.

I don't know, I have to think about it.

I mean, as much as I hate U2 these days, War was an excellent record. I still have the thing memorized. And Kill 'Em All is Metallica's thrashiest, if not finest, hour (I have a hard time picking a favourite of all first four albums). And I probably listen to Power Corruption and Lies the most, currently. And Reach the Beach back then.

This is one of the few years where the record I chose got some serious consideration. I always thought people thought of Synchronicity as a weak record. Really, there's no stopping that side two though.

Tough to choose among these four, but I'm going with Olga.

I voted The Police, but it's a lie. Truth would be a Def Leppard/Crue split.
