Pain killers are a bitch. I've been in a stupid haze caused by Oxycodone since Monday when I had a septoplasty aka deviated septum surgery.
I broke my nose 8 years ago when I tackled my nemesis. Should have remembered to put my head to the side of his ribcage like I learned in all of those tackling drills I did from 2nd grade until Senior year of high school, but I was drunk on a pint's worth of Seagram's 7 at the time and my nose went straight into the fucker's back.
I finally have a really good health plan at work, so the doctor's visit and surgery only cost a $75 co-pay. It's about time I got this damn thing fixed. For 8 years my left nasal cavity has been 95% blocked by the cartilage of my septum. Makes it kind of hard to breath through the nose efficiently. The blockage also caused bad sleep, snoring, sinus infections, bad breath, etc.
Anyway, I don't get what all of the hullabaloo surrounding high-strength painkillers is about. I would much rather be UP than down.
Anyone care to share?

Take them daily for 3 or 4 months and then report back on how little you want them.

People lie, cheat, steal and lie again to get a script for 20 of these. Of course, they often sell them after that, but still...people seem to crave the euphoria of opiates more than most drugs.

I had one of the best days of work ever after taking a couple of these a few summers ago. By best days I mean mood-wise... no person would have been able to piss me off for any reason.

My drug days are well behind me, but I would much rather be down than up. I never had an interest in stimulants, my brain would eat me from the inside.

Also, I think the effect is going to be different if you actually need them. Ie, if you have a ton of pain, the medicine's going to treat the pain, not get you "high."

I sort of got addicted to pain killers. When my mom was ill, they perscribed her a bunch of different things. She refused to take them because they made her feel even worse. So, like an ass, I indulged myself. I guess I didn't get TOO addicted, because I never felt compelled to seek out more after they ran out. But at the time I couldn't stop taking them.

My girlfriend just broke her foot, and they gave her some vicoden, which make her sick. Since she doesn't want to take them, they're just SITTING AROUND again... I haven't touched them. Yet...

As for the surgery, it will probably be GREAT for you. My girlfriend just had the same surgery a few months ago. The recovery took a little less than two weeks, but now she can breathe perfectly.

Painkillers just make me wanna crawl in a ball and sleep. What good is that? There's no fun in sleeping at all. I mean, I can do that on my REGULAR time. But, I will make the exception for morphine -- cuz that shit is bomb-ass goooooooooooood!

morphine? I don't remember anything from when I was on morphine during my second hospital stay. Apparently I called everyone I knew, including Blue Milk multiple times but that's what he was there for and he was great about it. My mom said I was very belligerent, though, which is why in my most recent hospital stay they made sure to not use morphine on me but the stuff they used that time, I don't remember what it was, but I was even more belligerent apparently. They wouldn't let me sleep so I started hitting the metal bars on my bed and I threw up.

I don't know, I was in pain. They should have let me sleep.

I don't think there's anything ethically wrong with enjoy non-abused prescription drugs, but I prefer muscle relaxants to painkillers.

just dranka val about twenty minutes ago, so I will be snuggling with my pillow soon. I can get just about anything I care to here, and one must be prudent about one's activities or risk losing grip on what's important...i.e. life and career and relationship and playstation2.
check the time on this post and watch me slide, should you care....
