So I sold my iMac on ebay and as an added bonus I'm kepping Office for Mac on there and giving this dude a copy of the CD.

So I need to burn the install CD. I don't really grasp the concept. When I put in the install CD it's not like there are files for me to take off of the CD and put on the desktop, then burn them on the new CD.

So how do I do this people? I caught the dumb. Thanks.

You need to make a disc image.

Application>Utilities>Disk Utility

That should work, but I haven't copied a data CD on my mac before.

Most of the time there is a no-copy block on Microsoft Office CDs, so I don't even know if it's possible. At least, this used to be the case.

A couple of friends and I just go in on Word and and connect our laptops and copy. We don't usually go the route of copying it to disc.

Yeah I'm pretty much the dumbest person I know.

It looked as though I couldn't move the files onto the desktop, but that's exactly what I did. Then I just dragged them over to the CD-R and burned the disk.

I re-installed Office back on the old iMAc (after I re-installed the OS) from the disk I made just to make sure that it worked, and it did so...
