We had a jewelry show come around not too long ago, I helped set up and take down and show people around but I was able to look around and buy for myself if I wanted to. The stuff was incredibly expensive though, because all pieces of jewelry were handmade. Anyways, I ended up buying my mothers Christmas gift there. It's a pair of earrings, handmade out of silver and real turquoise. That's all I have for her sofar, and I don't know if it's enough. Should I get her something else? These weren't cheap but they weren't about to make me broke either.

I don't know. Do I need to buy something else?
Also, what the hell do you buy for your boyfriends parents when you don't have much money? If I had money i'd be buying them gift certificates to nice restaurants and stuff, but I don't think they can eat on 25 dollars. Ha.

McDonald's Gift Certificates go a LONG way. ;)

If you don't have a lot of money, those earrings sound perfect. Remember it's the thought that counts. And I'm sure your mom will appreciate anything that you give her. That's how moms are.

that's enough, and pretty good. maybe some silver polish or cleaner if you want to remind her what her role in your life is. bottle of wine or likeminded acoutrements are a good gift for other people's parents.

She keeps telling me to stop buying things for people because I need to save money for college, but with all she has done for me I don't feel like the earrings are enough. Even though they weren't cheap at all, it's the fact that they are a pair of earrings. It just seems like such a small thing to give to her. She likes candles and cookbooks and Mick Jagger. Maybe i'll buy her Mick Jagger. The real one.

I mean, if I bought her diamond earrings or something then yeah that'd be way more than enough, but i'm not romantically involved with my mother so I don't know if I need to woo her with the magic of diamonds or anything.
She likes flowers too. I'll figure it out.

I thought of doing something very cheesy for Blue Milks parents. I used to draw pictures of their family, just stupid drawings and theyd hang them on the fridge. I could do another drawing, and bake gingerbread men and make each one out to be a different member of the family but I need a gingerbread cat and dog too which could prove to be difficult.... and then i'd buy flowers and nice chocolates or something and if I have actual money a gift card somewhere. I don't know. I'm just trying to figure I have them, and my friend Alice to buy for. and gas to buy so I can drive for the next few weeks... so this is tough.

I'd have to go to my job, make sure my friend is managing that night, wait until no customers are around, and then he'd have to give me the wine. Don't forget i'm 17.
It's highly possible but once I got it where the hell do I say I got it from and how? That's awkward. haha

Um... your art. Frame it.

Share your gift, that'll mean plenty.

Just say you grew and stomped the grapes yourself. It's not like you're drinking the wine. You're giving.

My last paycheck wasn't even 100 dollars. It was 103 before taxes. This is why I hate being a kid, you make no money, you have no control over how many hours a work you week, therefore your options for christmas gifts suck. Believe me, when I get older i'm buying awesome gifts for everyone and i'll have money leftover. It'll be so nice.

Do BM's parents drink coffee? How about a coffee grinder (less than 20 bucks) and a bag of coffee beans -- choose a nice blend or particular flavour they might like.

I don't know if they drink wine, coffee or tea. They're all good ideas. There are many things I could use to put together a good gift. I know we liked to drink pina coladas over there... but I don't think it'll be a good gift to buy a few of the frozen mixes as a present.

Buy them festive glasses for the pina coladas.

Milk Dud has parents? Biologic, or adoptive?

I thought that he just crawled out of a sewer, amorphous, and assumed the shape of a man... A poorly conceived man, but male no less.

That's not nice. He lives with both biological parents and he's very lucky. His parents are wonderful, I love his family.
I'm the one who has been adopted. Get it straight.

I used to always get my girlfriend's mom pez dispensers (she collected them. don't ask). She usually already had them, but it made me her favorite person in the family for a long time. I remain on better terms with her than my ex.

that's cute. I don't know, I think I may be going to his house tonight so i'll look around to see if I can get any ideas. I've known his mother for probably 3 1/2 years now so I don't know why this is so difficult. I think it's really difficult because I don't have much money and my mom owes me 20 for taking my little brother to lunch but I don't know if she's going to give that back.

I think she'd be pretty pleased with it as long as it wasn't a hobo blanket or something. It sounds like you have a good relationship with her, so she's gonna understand that you're not going to be able to afford some massive present for her. Just give her something from heart that you think she'd like.
