i'm very close to my friend's 2 sons.
they're the closest things i have to nephews.

i got an email from the 9 yr old this morning....
and replied asking him to refresh my memory on what he wants for christmas. (because i have yet to shop for him.....besides the gift i already gave him because i'm a sucker for the puppy dog eyes he gave me when he said he was bored.....)

anyway,
i just opened an email from him with his list....

he wants a pocket knife
polar express dvd
gbh (whatever that is.....can someone tell me?)
basketball
basketball hoop

i already know that he got most of those things.

but, the last items is so hilarious....

he asked for....
a 40 pound bag of ice melt

bwahahahahahahahaha.

i love odd kids.

(for the record, i know why he asked for it.... he takes it upon himself to make sure that all the sidewalks around our house is nice and clear for all of us that live there. (big house. 2 apartments and then the main part where his family lives.) but....goodness. i can't believe he asked for it as a gift!!!!!!)

wikipedia says of gbh:

Quote:
* Charged GBH, a British punk rock band often referred to simply as "GBH"
* gamma-hydroxybutyrate, GBH (grievous bodily harm) is a street name for the drug GHB
* G.B.H., a satirical drama series written by Alan Bleasdale and shown on the British Channel 4 television channel in 1991.
* Gordon B. Hinckley, current president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
* grievous bodily harm

uhhh... yeah, i still don't know.

i think i am going to buy a small bag of rock salt...and wrap it up....just to see his reaction.

otherwise...
i'm getting him the basketball, a target gift card (to be used for a gba game), an itunes gift card (his grandma is getting him an ipod....) and i already gave him that '20 questions' ball game thing.
