So tonight we headed up to the Baltimore neighborhood of Hampden to check out the 700 block of 34th Street to check out the annual lights display that has been called "The Miracle on 34th Street". Get it? 34th Street. Like the movie. Get it?

This is the approach into the block. Every single home on the block is entirely decked out in every kind of Christmas decoration imaginable. There are even lights that are strung across the street.

Here's the other side of the street. There were probably three of those bigass Grinches on the block.

The object of the game is obviously quantity over quality. Here we see a Nativity scene with baby Jesus and some gingerbread people. Wait, which one can I bite the head off of?

One of the more renowned attractions is the Christmas tree made up of hubcaps. Only in Bawlmer, hon. Also, I heard people saying there was a Natty Boh tree, but for the life of me I couldn't find it.

Back where we started, the most decorated houses on the block, right on the end. It's hard to see, but just above the Santa snow globe on the bottom is a train track that runs between the two houses with two trains going inside and outside. The "God Bless America" sign is actually hanging off the bottom of the track.

Yeah there was a town in the next street over when I was growing up that this one street would just be xmas lights all over the fucking place. My parents would always drive down there on the way back from my Aunt's on christmas. After 3 years of it, I'd beg them not to go down there because it was boring as fuck.

Nice pics, man. That second shot is unbelievable, it looks like you could cruise that street at night without the headlights on.

My friend and his gf just headed down there the other night. Yeah, same as yr pics...crazy lights! I envy that you got a chance to check it out, I miss going out to the Balto neighborhoods with the 'rents. In any event, my friend say Jim Beattie (sp?) and of course had to get a pic with him.

Imagine walking down the street while under the influence. I pretty much think your brain would explode.

Especially if that house sync'd to the music was on the street...yikes.

There's two on 36th, don't remember either name (both on the south side of the street, not thinking of the comic place). The tiny smelly one is moderately overpriced but has some unusual stuff and the bigger one I didn't find much at, but I've only been in once or maybe twice. I've been a low volume consumer since the tt broke down and the job began kicking my ass.

Just curious. I don't get into the city as much as I might like to, but I'm working on trying to fix that.
