I thought Common - Be would be on there.

I just don't get why anyone likes Sufjan.

Where is Chicago's Hot Streets?

(Damn you, Radcliffe. I saw this in the store today and was instantly taken back to your quiz.)

It's a bonafide classic.

Shit. I bought this earlier this and have it under my '05s. Anyway to verify when the proper release date is?

AMG says May 18, 2004. I didn't think it was that old. Only bought it in November of this year, though.

Probably the discrepancy is there's a special edition that came out months later from the original release.

Amazon sez: domestic -- April 26, 2005; import -- September 6, 2004.

I say 2004 -- that way I can feel bad about not discovering it until 2005, but I don't have to squeeze it in on either list.

Of that list I liked 2/30, therefore I am not a demographic of CMJ's constituency.

I think it's a pretty decent list, save for a few releases I don't agree with. Dalek at #3 is a good surprise.

Any magazine that doesn't list Common's album this year is racist.

They's black folk don't like the hip-hop, you know.

Um, like Bill Cosby, Wayne Brady, Harry Belafonte, Darius Rucker and...and...maybe the new host of The Planet's Funniest Animals On Animal Planet.
