I HATE TEQUILA.

It's been about 15 years since I've had it. I miss the peculiar buzz sometimes. Drinking nothing but straight tequila affords a very unique headspace. However, it also comes along with a raging death-begotten sickness the likes of which I've never experienced before or since. I can barely sniff the bottle now.

I don't cross paths with it much, except in margarita-form.

Tequila = angry sauce.

This is probably worth a thread on its own i.e. 'what can't you drink and why?' but rye is my angry sauce. I haven't touched that in nearly 10 years. Raging depersonalizing blackouts do not a good time make.

You people and your booze during the holidays! You're making this week of my life a living hell. Even if you don't live in St. Louis, I'm still holding you all personally responsible.

Now back to my beer.

I haven't touched the sauce in about a week, and (barring 1-2 glasses of wine w/ turkey Sunday night) I'll probably hold off on excessive consumption until Dad's family gig in the VT.

I feel absolutely great. grandmother's xmas party tonight, where my entire giant family, like some sort of exotic planetary alignment, come together in a haze of sloppiness and holiday guile. I will be back home and posting by midnight.

I think I'm gonna buy myself a nice bottle of booze....maybe even a fancy gift set for Xmas today. I've spent too much money on other people this year not too.

I filled up the wine rack (6 bottles), and got a Chivas gift set with 2 glasses and my annual Budweiser Christmas stein. Its a nice start.

That's a good fucking idea.

Tequila is disgusting. It tastes almost as bad as Sunny Delight. GAG.

DumpJack: Rye? I've never met anyone without a dancing woman tattoo on their forearm or a winding scar on their head that drank Rye. Please share your experiences.

Rye is the only whiskey anyone drinks in Northern ON. And yeah, nearly everyone has that winding scar now that you mention it. I was literally the only person I knew who drank bourbon or sour mash. But it was kind of pricey, so I was a rye and ginger man. It's a nice mix actually although rye and coke is more popular. After years of drinking it I started blacking out. I'm out there interacting, behaving and crashing around like an angry, gibbering water buffalo. Then after awhile, I suddenly come back "online". The best example of this is at the wedding of a member of my wife's family. Two words: Open Bar. I'm drinking double ryes all night long and at some point, I go "bye bye". The next thing I consciously remember I'm in bed and ranting about how "I need help immediately as I'm obviously insane". Needless to say my wife is immediately freaked out because I'm babbling incoherently. It took me nearly 24 hours to sober up and feel normal.

After that, I stayed off of it for a long time. Then my aunt dies, so my parents come down for the funeral. After the burial, my dad buys a bottle of rye and comes over. The next thing I remember is the next morning checking my email. Apparently I had been sending out insanely nonsensical emails about death and Catholicism. My best friend was the only one who emailed me back with a "What in the fuck are you talking about? Is somebody using your email or something? You sound like a goddamn mental patient."

That was the last time. Too fucking weird. And the hangover is awe-inspiringly horrible.
