I noticed that many of my clothes were starting to fit too snug recently, so on Monday I decided to change my diet. Instead of pop, I now only drink water, tea and skim milk (w/ Ovaltine!). Also, I stopped eating desserts at night, which was a major problem because I usually ate 1-2 hours before I went to bed. We're talking a huge bowl of ice cream, a handful of oreos, or chocolate in general. I must have accumulated over 1000 calories every night just from that nightly ritual alone.

Well, I weighed myself on Sunday night at 156 pounds, then this morning at 152. That's almost 1 pound a day.

I don't know if it's healthy or not to lose that much weight in a week, but it's amazing what a small change in your life can do. I plan on snacking once or twice a week to keep my long-term sanity, but after about two days on the diet, I completely lost my appetite for snacks/candy somehow.

I cut the pop out for a long time, and have slipped in recent months. I need to do that again.

You've lost mostly water weight. You won't die.

Yeah, what he said. You'll lose a lot the first few days, but expect the losses to slow down, and don't get depressed by it -- it's normal.

You done a good thing.

I used to be obsessed with pepsi, but my parents stopped buying it. Now when I drink it I expect to love it, but I end up wanting to vomit after the first sip.

I'm still obsessed with mountain dew and drink one everytime I go to Blue Milks house.
Congratulations with the weight loss, it isn't easy i'm sure. I've never been motivated enough to try to lose weight.

Basically youve used up all your glycogen (like starch) in your muscles and liver which is hydrated with a shitload of water. The real weight loss will come later and slower. This is why many people get discorouged when the diet starts off 'well' and then gets slower. youll have to keep going with it to get real results.

Weight fluctuates. You probably lost like 1 pound total.

I'm 5'11 or 6'0, 125. I used to be less than that before I started lifting a little bit each night. I've been this weight about a year now...I'm afraid a huge weight gain is going to come all at one time.

I ended doing the same thing over the last year or so, eliminate the nightly feeding (except on weekends) and severely ramp up the exercise. I figure I've dropped about 10-15 lbs or so. I'm actually in better shape now than when I was in high school, not as skinny, but probably healthier overall.

I eat really awful food. I had an entire bag of white cheddar popcorn within the span of two days, this week.
I love macaroni, and cheesy potatoes, and steak. But I do love salads and I think i'm going to go have one now. I love sour cream with french fries, too. I need to stop eating like this because it's always caught up to me, but I know things need to change for the future because I have a feeling it'll catch up to me even more, especially after having babies, if I do that.

I did something similar about a year ago. Stopped drinking everything except water (and coffee no sugar). I also cut down on sugar. I felt soooooo much better and healthier.

Sadly recently I've slipped back into the land of sugar. It seems everywhere I turn someone is offering me sweet things to eat. I loved them, espech chocolate, but tonight with all the holiday food it was just toooo much.

You really do feel better hen you cut down on it. Even fruit juice has a lot of sugar in it (!)
