This ended up being way better than I expected. I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more at Luke Wilson.

Also, Rachel McAdams is so freakin' HOT.

Man, this was an awful movie. But I'd still agree that it was better than I thought it would be, thus indicating my very low expectations.

Sarah Jessica Parker in any cast usually = me not interested, period.

I was never a fan of her, but I liked her in this movie.

I sat through it with my parents just to look at Claire Danes. ;) And yeah, Rachel McAdams is eye candy as well. Not that great of a film though.

I really really really want to see this.

I've started to get over my hatred of Sarah and now actually watch SATC reruns and enjoy them. And her.

I just think the cast in this film rocks and would make it worthwhile.

Sex And The City is pretty much the template for "Non-frostingspoon TV"

I know 3 things about Sex and the City:

1) It's a show on TV
2) It has Sarah Jessica parker
3) It has Kim Cattrall

Sex and The City is the ultimate show for the obsessive, vapid, materialistic, calculating, and shallow people of the world.

Oh, and oversexed too. Can't forget that.

I have to agree with the above review. Further --

Until I read the ONION review of this, I thought it was a film made in '00 and shelved five years due lack of saleability. Reason being, I saw a coupla minutes of it on Friday at work, and saw Gore/Liebermann - erm, I mean, Sore/Losermann - signs in some of the shop windows.

Later, found out this was a "period" piece, but, still...

The Family Stone is the superior movie, too.

Craig T. Nelson really steps out of his real-life social conservative background to play progressive, i.e. Massachusetts liberal college professor.

Diane Keaton is sublime.

And, Rachel Mc Adams is f-n-' hott.

My mom got all mad because apparently there's a whole cancer/mortality thing in the movie when it looked like the typical "cute" lady-type comedy.

They didn't advertise it would have cancer in it!

I saw this tonite as well...

thoughts:

1) Rachel McAdams is so fucking beautiful, I'd pay $10.75 to watch her balance her check book for 90 minutes. When she was wearing the Dinosaur Jr. t-shirt and pajama bottoms, I nearly pulled a Pee Wee Herman in the theater. She is officially my current obsession.

2) Sarah Jessica Parker and Claire Danes being sisters is about as believable as Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger being brothers in "Twins". SJP is a monster (with the excpetion of 'Honeymoon in Vegas'), and couldnt realisticaly share the same DNA with Claire Danes.

3) While I love Owen Wilson ion everything he has done, Luke Wilson is equally if not more talented then him, and deserves more mainstream success.

4) The whole mom sying thing was a bit rough as I went thru the same thing and it took everyhting i had to not breakdown right there....If it werent my uncontrollable urge to touch myself everytime Rachel was on the screen, I might have during a few scenes.

I really loved this flick.

And, the underpants are blue.

What, you didn't see that coming?

Used to be in the Owen is great, Luke is shite bloc. Prolly due Owen maintaining an "arthouse" rep following the break-out of Bottle Rocket, while Luke tried the matinee idol thing (well, Behind Enemy Lines, anyway). But he shined in this one, and Owen's new piece (You, Me, and DUPREE) looks like a Wedding Crashers re-hash, so the worm is turning.

The only reason I want to see this movie is because she had a Dinosaur Jr shirt on in the previews. It would be an added bonus if I enjoyed the movie as well.
