My cable, phone, and internet were bundled together in my wife's name, and she cancelled them last week. It'll be until the first or second week of the new year before I can get them set up again, so unless I am up here at school, or hanging out at a coffee shop, I'll probably be even scarcer around here than I already have been.

I don't think that a full cancellation needs to occur for your wife to be off the hook for her former residence's cable/net/phone expense. She should have just been able to have the name on the account changed.

... But, don't misread me. I doubt that the full cancellation was done for spite. Rather, I think that your wife is uncreative and not thinking to inquire as to what the typical procedure is for account withdrawl and transfer.
