Yeah. A friend of mine got her flat broken into and they took all her CD's so after I heard about that I started my list.

That was the impetus to start mine as well. It's a sickening thought, but better safe than sorry. I'm going to the same with my dvds as well. Then just archive a copy in all of my email accounts.

I can't believe there's someone out there that has more In The Nursery cd's than me.

Hey, if you have Die Warzau's Engine and like it you must get Disco Rigido and Big Electric Metal Bassface too...
I have more ITN CD's as well -- Hindle Wakes was a religion for me for a while there.

Die Warzau recently came out with a new album -- anyone heard it yet?

It's awful. I recently gave it, along with 37 other CDs, to a record store in exchange for store credit.

Wow.

I had no idea. The last thing I heard by them was an awful solo cd by Van Christie in 1998.

Its depressing to hear that this new album is terrible though...

Also,

Borg...I'm kind of surprised that you don't have any Muslimgauze cd's.

I had to make a list when my house burned down in 2003. That's my excuse. The rest was just updating.

was this for insurance? if my house burned down right now i'd be able to name maybe half the crap in my house. the rest would be symbolized by a crayon drawing of the sun dropping 2 scoops of raisins all over pennsylvania. with sunglasses on, of course. to keep himself out of his eyes. man that sounds gross.

Yeah. Luckily, my stuff wasn't cinders, just smoke and water damage, so I could look at stuff as they hauled it away to be dried and cleaned where possible. It's still hugely labor instensive--and I was living in a tiny studio apartment at the time. They say you should just take a picture of every side of each room now and again to job your memory.

I wonder what they would give you for two sun-sized scoops of raisens? If that dude's to scale, I bet a lot!

I almost burnt my house down last night (I had to run an errand and didn't even consider until I was on my way back that I left a fire burning with a stack of magazines next to the fireplace and the battery ripped out of the smoke alarm) and thought to myself how stupid I was for not taking pictures of all this crap like I meant to in June.

I don't think I want to attempt this anymore. I find it a little depressing how much money and time I've invested in my music sometimes, especially when I can pick out CDs that I haven't listened to or thought about in ages . . . yet for some reason I keep them. Dumb.

Borg,

You own too many material things for a commie bastard. The committee for collective enjoyment of musical product has assigned me the job of commandeering your collection and redistributing it from each according to abilty to each according to need.

There are probably some photos in the cover art that would be "useful" to someone. I'm guessing there's far worse than Beyonce in Borg's collection

I don't need to be lectured by a bunch of capitalist pigs!

If I lost about 600-800 of my 1200 CDs I wouldn't cry because I only listen to about half of my collection. I only put my favorite CDs in my 800 CD tower, and it's not even full.

Also, a third of my list is radically different by now because I sold/traded a lot of CDs over the last few months.
