Anybody have those albums that they just don't have the time (and/or cash) for?

William Basinski - The Disintegration Tapes
- The Fiery Furnaces - Blueberry Boat
- Max Richter - The Blue Notebooks
- Junior Boys - Last Exit
- Ratatat
- And all those Broken Social Scene side projects/initial band's albums.

I really liked the Ratatat album when it first came out... but have no desire to return to see if it's top 20 worthy. Does anyone have time for William Basinski?

Pan Sonic, Kesto -- clocking in at over four hours, I don't listen to it that often, but it satisfies my "alienware" itch when it's bad.

I should explain my terms -- I use the term 'alienware' (no relationship to the computer manufacturer/integrator/whatever) to describe those experimental musics which sound alien to most laypeople's ears. Examples are Pan Sonic, Lull, KK.Null, much of Controlled Bleeding/Paul Lemos/et al, Merzbow, and the occasional Coil and Nurse With Wound.

Oh there's so many to list.... since I don't have CC, it's hard for me to catch up on all 04 stuff. Oh well, it is what it is.

I really wanted to buy Jim White's record, but never made it around to it. I wouldn't mind checking out some of the minimalist electronic stuff that gets mentioned every once in a while, but haven't had the patience in a while.

Seriously, dude.

Imagine Skynyrd-esque 3 guitar sonic assaults with soem of the darkest southern gothic story telling of all time. Some catchy numbers, some slower ones, all wrapped up in "the duality of the Southern Thing"

At least get this from CC before you dismiss it whole cloth.
Although I seem to remember thinking from your top 3 "me and this guy have little in common" so maybe you'll hate it.

Some more I haven't picked up yet which are probably good:

Leonard Cohen, Dear Heather
Beta Band, Heroes to Zeroes
Clinic, Winchester Cathedral
Junior Boys, Last Exit
Pinback, Summer in Abaddon
Llhasa, The Living Road
Fennesz, Venice
Espers, Espers
Eagles of Death Metal, Peace Love Death Metal

Everything on Metropolis that I don't have yet. Ditters Ghostly, alien8, and Constellation. You never know where that next truly resonant album is going to be.

They're all on my wish list, I just haven't had a chance to pick any of them up yet.
