Someone must've put out a cd of all the James Bond songs. I want it.

I think I'm voting for Live and Let Die.

Man, this series is officially in the toilet. I remember seeing "Die Another Day" in the theatre and remembering how painful it was to watch.

There was a 2-CD Bond collection some time in the late '90s (?) with all the theme songs on one CD and a bunch of soundtrack music on the second.

The Pretenders had a song or two in one of the Timothy Daltons, though not the actual theme song. The Chrissie-completist in me is annoyed that I don't own this.

Does Bacharach's Casino Royale theme count?

My wife has the comp and listens to it at least once a week.
I've "pretended" to like James Bond songs for a long time now.

People like Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey and Nancy Sinatra have the pipes to carry off the pomposity of John Barry's melodies, but others like Sheryl Crow and Chrissie Hynde don't have strong enough voices. Shirley Manson does well, though.

My overall problem with the songs is that the lyrics are really stupid even when the performers rip into them.

I actually never knew that "Nobody Does it Better" was a James Bond Theme song. Ah well...

I think I like the Garbage song the most.

Shirley Bassey - Gold - fingah

Evokes the whole skinny-tie, slicked-back, mid-sixites. No other Bondsong is close for me. Live and Let Die literally makes me nauseous.
