Paul Rodgers rocks...If they thought of seeing Queen live without Freddie wasn't sickening I might actually be tempted to see this calvacade.

Go listen to some Free or Bad Company.

Well, I've mentioned before that my wife is a Queen fanatic. She wouldn't go anywhere near this show, but, she's not disapointed in the guys or anything. They want the money and they were a band who were never ashamed to say that.

I know Brian May and Roger Taylor will be doing it. Not sure about John Deacon.

The only appropriate fill-in for Freddie Mercury would be Luciano Pavoratti. Or maybe one of the other "3 Tenors", but that's it.

There is NO fill-in for Freddie.

This whole idea is an abomination.

I too was and have been a huge fan since childhood and this is pathetic and just plain wrong.

I predict this will barely sell tickets.

Although I think this is a bad idea, I do think that the singer for MUSE could handle this task.

I love my boy.
Queen touring is my version of like, all these pixies shows that everyone is raving about. But without Freddie there is no Queen...alas, I will not go, although Brian May...

i like what the Grateful Dead did, and The Talking Heads did.

if you are going to keep going without your singer, at least alter the name a bit. It's a differnt thing, you can still play all the same songs and such . . . but don't soil the name.

hell, when 2/4 of Led Zepplelin weren't there for the reunion they didn't call it Led Zeppelin, and thye had the two most recognizable faces.

So is Paul Rogers going to wear one of Freddie's old jump suits? That might be worth it.

Seriously, this is a horrible idea. It's like the Doors trying to go on the road without Jim Morrison. Oh, they DID try that didn't they?

Yeah, probably.

Andy Sturmer would be better though.

They should just get that ass from the Darkness. It'd be a perfect fit - both Queen and the Darkness require thick, rose-colored irony goggles before they can be viewed in a favorable light.

Without the ironic distance, they both seriously suck dirt-caked pig bits.

Wir
The Faces

Fairport Convention became just Fairport for one album in the late '70s, but I don't think it had anything to do with members leaving; if they'd changed their name every time a member left, they'd be called F by now.

Anybody else?

Would not have Rob Halford been a capable stand-in for Freddie?

Gay, British metaller, with a yen for interesting stage dress (though Merc's cat-suit tops Hal's biker chic any day)... What could have been.

Free, Bad Company, The Firm.

Pretty much the blue collar rock fan's version of Robert Palmer.

Perhaps they can tour with "The Doors of the 21st Century" and just call it the "Bad Idea" tour.

I'm a huge Queen fan, but it's terribly bad idea.

I'd be all for another huge show in Wembly with guest vocalist and even new tracks celebrating some Queen anniversary and marketing the hell out of it, but I really don't want to see a new album with some other person, no matter who it is, fronting "Queen" ala the reconstituted "Doors".

All 3 surviving members are rich beyond belief, but I don't blame them for wanting to keep the music alive and continue to create. Just change the name for gawd sakes from "Queen" to something different... Hell, "News to the World" would be a cool name for them to do their thing, yet not tarnish Freddie when the tour is ridiculed as cashing in for $... I'll keep an open mind, but don't call the thing "Queen".
