Weird. I actually thought you were a proponent of this album.

As bad as that new piece of shit Big Star record was, it made the Stephen Stills release sound like the glorious percussion of balls slapping against a stripper's ass.

I thought that BRMC was boring. Not bad, but boring.

Love the cover art though.

I think that's worse than being truly bad. At least you remember the bad.

Just curious, how do you feel about other AoL/Swans stuff?

mine (awful):

1. Weezer - Make Believe
2. Mars Volta - Frances the Mute
3. Deluxx - The Tidy Boy and the Crazy Bastard
4. Clue to Kalo - One Way, It's Every Way
5. iD and Sleeper - Displacement

-big gap here-

weak but not terrible:

6. Radar Bros. - Fallen Leaf Pages
7. Decemberists - Picaresque
8. Okkervil River - Black Sheep Boy
9. Jackie-O Motherfucker/My Cat Is an Alien - From the Earth to the Spheres Vol. 3 (split)
10. Sunburned Hand of the Man - No Magic Man

I didn't really bother listening to much really bad new stuff last year. Either that or I just forgot about it.

Only Momus was truly abysmal, 'Alligator' I didn't like at all and the rest just weren't very good but you could salvage a track or two from most of them.

i dont buy many albums that I don't already know quite a bit about, but I would say Coldplay was the most boring thing I bought this year.

Really?! Aside from the title track, I love this album. And yes, 2004 album it is.

it just drags for me compared to his earlier stuff, which is kind of an unfair comparison. but i still like it. my only regrets are the time i wasted with my bottom 3. anything less-liked usually sees the "delete" button after a couple of spins.
