I don't know you, so I'll just have to take your word that 6 teeth equals "all your teeth", but for future reference you might want to know that most of us in the non-hobo world have 32 of 'em.

I just reviewed the tracklisting from last year's go-round, I'm gonna be hard-pressed to top those--but I'll give it a shot.

Actually, I listened to your 'It's a post-mongering chilldown" recently, and was surprised by how jail it was.

Surprised and impressed that is. That Bible and a Gun song is fucking qual...and there's a ton of others just as good.

Actually, it's a Peter Green reference.

You got it, Loogs - I'm compiling that shee right now. I'll send it out along with the Bicycle Thief.

I want in.

Ditto.

Bump - check the mix forum.

The Auteurs New Wave (they also had Now I'm A Cowboy, but I've always been looking for NW)

Head back and grab that Now I'm A Cowboy. I like it a little more than New Wave even.

Auteurs = Best British band of the last 15 years.

I agree Now, I'm A Cowboy is probably my favorite by them. I knew Billy liked them but would have never have guessed that he thought they were the best for the last 15 years. Billy, did you ever get into Black Box Recorder? I bought one album but really didn't do much for me.

Not too many solo artists have put out six decent to brilliant albums in as short a span as Mr Haines, especially with so little reward in terms of adoring throngs. I like New Wave better than NIAC, but all the auteurs albums are worth owning and After Murder Park is likely in my top 5 of all time.

BBR never really stuck with me, though it is good. His solo stuff is better.

Just went back to the same store with a couple trade-ins that I couldn't unload anywhere else. Only had fifteen minutes to scour through the racks, but still managed to pick up House Of Freaks Tantilla and World Party Bang! on a straight-across trade.

Damn, I need about 3 or 4 hours to adequately go through that place.

i thought for the longest time that I was one of the few efficient CD rumagers around.

Just a few weeks ago I made a causal stop in one of these hole in the wall types of places to hit a smallish goldmine of rejected CDs (according to me) in the discount bin.
My haul - all $1.99 CND

Husker Du - Candy Apple Red
Loose Fur - s/t
Jonathan Fire Eater - s/t
the Doughboys - Crush (one of my all time fav pop/punk discs)
Hum - You'd Prefer an Astronaut?
Danny Michel - Fibsville (riyl : the weakerthans)
Cash Brothers - How was Tomorrow

(i got a live John Coltrane sampler too - for free)

I think that being located a few blocks away from Vancouver's biggest hipster record store, means that good stuff trickles through and most bypass the store because they have the "one hit wonder" cd's (i.e Dishwalla) and contemporary mainstream crap displayed in the window.

I found a still sealed copy of The Dandys Rule OK at Wherehouse Music for $14.99. For some reason, I thought I remember seeing this go for $35 or so on e-bay. I picked it up because I am semi-fan of the Dandies. But if it sucked, I figured I could sell it on e-bay. But I look on e-bay and it doesn't seem to be selling for anything now. Was it reissued? Or does everyone think they suck now?
