I prefer any and all bourbon (that is, whiskey made in KENTUCKY) to Jack Daniels.

Johnny Walker Black is a staple in our household. It's well loved and happily imbibed.

Unless of course like recent we were broke so he bought JD. Which was fine. It did what it was supposed to do.

If by 'household cleanser' you mean 'all of the above'.

Most common drinks for me when I'm in a bar (if it' not beer):

Beam & Coke
Maker's & Coke
Bushmill's & Sprite

Jack is a little too sweet for my tastes.

Last year my mom bought me a fifth of Canadian Club Whiskey Gift set as one of my Christmas gifts. I liked it alot. It's delicious when mixed with ginger ale. The smoothest whiskey I've drank is probably crown royal.

beam & coke was my drink of choice in college. possibly the worst breath imaginable after a night of drinking those though.

now that i'm older, i'm all about the scotch. right now it's glenmorangie.

a double single-barrell jack with a splash of water and a bag of peanuts is my preferred way to make the turn at #9. . .

i've been meaning to start drinking more liquor (after a lot of gin in the 90s i've been pretty much a beer and wine man, if you can call me that). , specifically dark liquor. maybe i'll look into this bourbon thing.

I think Jack is ok. It's better than Beam but not as good as a lot of other things. I don't really feel like this poll has a positive vote for Jack though. Am I missing something? Unless "redneck swill" is positive...

I stopped drinking bourbon after Christmas Eve 2000 when I ended up naked and sleeping on the floor of a toilet cubical which was swimming in my own vomit.

Happy days!

I'm having trouble figuring out how anyone could tell whatever liquor involved might actually taste like when it's drowning in cough syrup.

I'll drink just about anything, but I'll take generic bar whiskey over Jack Daniels. It usually tastes just as good and it's cheaper. That said, you won't catch me turning down a shot of the stuff too often.

My favorite whiskey is some Jameson on ice with a splash of seltzer. But, after the first 3-4, I pretty much stop giving a crap about the taste.

If you knew the kind of bars I frequent you would know that it's the coke that's drowning in the liquor.

It's also more socially acceptable to drink 9 Beam and Cokes than it is to walk around with the bottle taking pulls off of it.

After spending Easter curled up on my friend's bathroom floor with the shakes from some cheap gin, I turned my sights on Jack and have never looked back. We have a bar here in Ames that sells mostly whiskey/scotch/bourbon/stuff and there I drink a little Knob Creek, which I find tasty. However, it's pricier and the high cost you pay of drinking there is the owner playing his own music off his i-pod, usually some sort of Eurotrash house music that makes me want to eat my own ears. However, when I need a "girlie" drink, I found that Doc M, Cherry Pucker and Dr. Pepper make that Cherry-Vanilla Dr. Pepper they have on the market right now.
