I'm surprised that Colleen record didn't show up in your fifty. Also noticed that Six Organs didn't end up making your cut either, however another vote for Badgerlore pleases me to no end.

I've wanted to hear this so bad, but I can never find it on soulseek. It sounds like something I may dig, so I guess I should just take the leap and buy it.

I'd only heard that Colleen album a few times before making my list. I like it, but I still haven't listened to it enough to really form a solid opinion. Also, all but two of the albums in my top 50 are things that I bought. There are a lot of things like Jack Rose, Harris Newman, Sunn O))), Boris, Marissa Nadler, Birchville Cat Motel (well, maybe), Excepter (Throne), and Edan that would probably have been somewhere on there if I'd actually bought them or downloaded them earlier in the year. I still plan to get a few of them.

I went back and forth on the Six Organs album, but in the end I think the title track and "Procession of Cherry Blossom Spirits" kind of hurt it. Something about the noise improve over looped riffs just seems really lazy to me. Corsano's playing never really seems to mesh with Chasny, either.

Badgerlore is really nice, though. I've found it to be a great headphone record for when I'm working.
