I just started using this and it's so easy, that it is scary.

Post your User ID (Here is mine) so I can add you as a friend, and post some really good stuff you have listened too, that might be a little more obscure, out of print, or exclusive.

I've found:

Fluke - Puppy
High Dials - War of the Wakening
Coldplay - Brothers and Sisters [EP]
Stills - Rememberese [EP]
Secret Machines - September 000
Spoon - 30 Gallon Tank [EP]

I sent them a feedback email asking them if they could modernize their Bulletin Boards with some phpbb software. Their current BB is pretty lame. So everyone should send them an email too so we can get the change made.

If anyone wants an invite PM me and I get 50 free downloads too once you become a paying subscriber. We could start a referral tree so everyone refers someone and then everyone gets an additional 50 free.

I'm on emusic too, love it. I can't get to it at work, so I'll have to put my info in later. My only complaint so far is the 90 download limit - I have WAY more than that in my "saved for later" section that I'll likely never get to because I'm always finding something else to grab instead.

Favorite recent emusic downloads:
Archer Prewitt: Three
Sam Prekop: Who's Your New Professor
The Church: After Everything Now This

Am I the only one who downloads stuff, falls in love with it, and then wishes he'd bought the actual CD instead?

paladisiac

started in 2003. left when their unlimited downloads went away, then decided 90/$20 was still a good deal and returned...

January refresh downloads so far:

"absence" dalek
"the black light" calexico [NP]

I think that is strange.

It's a great service, especially for finding related artists, people with similar tastes, and sampling discs easily.

It's really great for browsing around and finding links between artists as well as listener recommendations, etc. I've discovered a ton of great stuff. They also have some decent writers put together some articles.

Next to spending hours in the local record store, this is the best music shopping experience I've found.

A friend of mine worked for Emusic a while back (before they were bought and unlimited dl's taken away) I loved the eat as much as you want plan.

I let my subscription lapse last year, but they've been sending me a lot of emails lately. I guess its time to renew again to see what the new labels have brought.

don't forget to take advantage of the free download of the day. it might pique your interest into a full album download AND if you do DL the whole album, that one free song does NOT count against your downloads later on.

i'm surprised it's only 6, but there are a lot of people here who value the vinyl package or the cd package or are on the perma-$0.00/infinite DL plan.

by $0 infinite DL plan, you mean Colinswood, right?

eMusic has a ton of stuff that Colinswood doesn't have. (But once I download it, Colinswood gets it by default.)

edit: and I downloaded the eMusic toolbar the other day and have downloaded 2 free tracks of the day so far. wow.

I'm a user but I didn't see the point in posting a profile because I don't make lists, use the bulletin boards, rate or review anything or use any community type features. I just download.

np: Bantu - Fuji Satisfactions (an emusic dl from last month)

you don't rate anything?
that's the best way to have them suggest music, and neighbors with similar interests

I'm not really looking for suggestions. They've got enough stuff that I know I want but probably wouldn't get around to buying at full retail value. That's what I use it for, not for trying to research and discover new artists.

I've never even clicked on a neighbor link.
