hey. my boss digidelay just shit the bed after 10 years the other night. OK, maybe 8 years.

so, i really shouldn't be spending cash on anything but bills, but as y'all know, delay pedals are a fairly crucial element of the bon sav guitar sound (along with excellent musicianship and general aesthetic craftsmanlike brilliance).

i never really, really dug the boss digidelay, so i'm considering a change of pace.

i'll go as high as $250.

what says y'all?

I say forsake the CHEATING, motherfucker, and develop a REALLY REALLY FAST right hand to get the same effect.

Seriously, I say go for an all-in-one processor like an Alesis Quadraverb, get a foot-control panel, and have it all right there. Custom sounds and all.

I used to have a Quadraverb in college, but, as many things in college do, it was stolen. Damn, I loved that thing.

I have an Akai Headrush. I bought it mainly to play around with it's loop function but it is also a delay. Not sure how it matches up against other delay pedals. I think I paid in the $160 neighborhood for it from Guitar Center.

I like the new Boss delay that's out

However...you should get this

http://www.musictoyz.com/guitar/pedals/eh.php

scroll down one pedal to the Electro Harmonix 16 Second Delay and Foot Controller...POWERFUL

oh i would love to have one of those.

but, the price is so not right. i mean, even if i had the money to buy one, i'd probably spend a little more and get a moogerfooger.

i am, however, giving serious thought to the Memory Man. we'll see...

Jimmy Hartridge of Swervedriver used a Boss RV-3 Delay. I think that band is the bees knees.

That's all.

I've made it a personal policy never to sell any gear. Every time I sell something I always wish I had it back at some point down the road.

the moogerfooger is pretty cool, but definitely not worth the money.

I have their ring mod though, its killer.

I love geek talk.

The Akai Headrush mimics the Echoplex, you can set different delays on it, it doesn't take up a lot of space. I want one.

The Line 6 Delay Unit is o.k. The Headrush is better, i think. They also have a single pedal echoplex from Line 6, you can't really call it an echoplex, but they do. The Line 6 stuff feels like it's gonna smush under my foot, like a cellophane wrapper.

Echoplex's sound great, but are notoriously problematic and expensive.

I'll ask around and see what i can find. I think the Akai is your best bet.
I believe you can also tap tempos with it, so if you guys get off, it's easily fixable mid song.

yeah, my guitarbandmate has the l6 echoplex. i dunno, seems cool and all, but something always just seems a bit too fake about line 6 stuff.

i'm definitely gonna try some stuff out tomorrow. i've wanted a memory man for a long time - j.robbins jokingly tried to sell me his after a burning airlines show a while back. that was funny.

Lexicon Vortex == hours of fun

Not familiar with your band, and I'm on dialup, so please don't ask me to listen to samples.

Epa sounds like he already reads Looper's Delight, and tossed around the most popular names on that list. If you want to investigate further, look here.

Use whatever Blixa Bargeld (lead singer for Einsturzende Neubauten) uses -- I've seen him use it live, so (a) it must be pretty easy, and (b) it sounds immaculate.

Don't go for an older quadraverb -- those things have got no delay times whatsoever.

Bitch please. You can suck my drunk cock.

Maybe I've tried out that piece of gear and was looking for a review online for kev?

Nah, couldn't be.

I'm proud of my lack of drunken typos.

So, uh... suck it.

???

I actually mentioned Looper's Delight as a reference. I.E. it was supposed to be a good thing if your list reflected the same as theirs. Didn't mean anything nasty by it. It just seemed that you read it. Sorry if you don't, your loss -- it's a good list.

There's a lot of people on that list, and the Line 6 and the Echoplex and the Akai Headrush are some of their favourites as well.

So, suck your own dick. I don't want to get herpes of the lips.

Hey, sorry I posted when I was drunk.

I don't want your cankersores anywhere near my package.

but seriously, i'm trying to figure out what else i posted last night... hm.

Drunk me probably thought you were saying he just googled some shit looking for a popular delay instead of actually knowing the pieces of gear.
Wrong thing to do to a gearhead musician.

So, whatever.
