...that you are seeing familiar things for the first time?
Like you're a child again? And there's new mystery in the things you see and smell and taste every day?

It's not a nostalgia thing, but something bigger than that.
Something overwhelming, yet peaceful.

Just curious.

Yep, Todd is getting goofy again...

No, but every time I cross a bridge I grip my keys tightly in my hand because I'm convinced that otherwise they will 'jump' out of my pocket and into the river.

No, I didn't... have I plagiarized a comedian without knowing?

I like that place, Todd. Need to visit there more often... without substantial aid.

More or less. Just say, "I meant to do that", and it becomes an homage instead.

I honestly had no idea. It's something I've been saying for years. But sure, I'll give George props in the future.

Depends who said it first. I first heard it in his routine in the late 80's.

Vuja De...the strange feeling that nothing like this has ever happened before.

Don't know whether he still uses it.

I still have a battered up VHS with that routine, Eddie Murphy - Delirious, and a Robin Williams standup all recorded off HBO in the late 80's.

np: Teenage Fanclub "Man Made"

I have a friend with mild epilesy who says that after her seizures, especially the bigger ones, familiar things around her seem strangely new for a few hours--like she'll be thinking "wait, is that what that chair is supposed to look like?"

Totally. I do believe it is one of my reasons for living.

I think this is why I'm a little obsessed with learning new things. I just love that feeling of discovering whole new worlds within worlds. I don't mind anymore if other people think I'm naive/innocent. I'd be really sad if I stopped being curious and excited by things.

Lately I'm really into learning about science stuff that passed me by in school. Just everyday stuff like how things work or little bits about biology or physics.

Then there's also looking at someone who has been in your life for a long time and suddenly realizing how incredibly cool & mysterious they are.
