A baguette stuffed full of delicious, corinary-inducing shrimp (usually). Can't believe you don't know what a po' boy is.

A po boy is a sandwich made of french bread that typically either has fried oysters or fried shrimp as the stuffing. But it can be anything. My favorite is fried bacon wrapped shrimp.

there's a restaurant just a few blocks away that makes great po boys - the chef moved here from New Orleans and he knows his stuff. i might have to drop by over there for lunch.

Daystar,
The poboy was created in New Orleans by two brothers who gave later gave their sandwiches to street car workers who were on strike. Hence the name. Pretty much every mom and pop sandwich shop in Louisiana sells them.

Tonight: Go see "You and Me and Everyone We Know" at local artsy theater, then go see buddy's band play at local metal bar.

Sat: Working on a feature story on a local amateur (pro) wrestling organization that's having a show at a local bar/club. Should be reedonkulous but entertaining. Then, swing by a fashion show we highlighted in my section last week, then jet down to Ann Arbor to see DJ Kool Herc.

Sun: Write wrestling story and some other shit for my section, watch some football, go to book store to work on another story, then head to Detroit to see We Are Scientists.

Mon: Start the new job!!! (even though it's really already begun).

Friday: Heading out to North Shore in a bit, probably my last Waimea surf before I move. Tonight: Play with my daughter

Saturday: More playing with the daughter, throw some stuff out that I have no need to ship back to the mainland, possibly out to dinner with the wife.

Sunday: Finish repainting the house, mow the yard, and more time with the daughter.

Not the most exciting weekend of my life.

You talkin' 'bout Lagniappe? Very good food, and yes, the shrimp po-boy is aweseome and huge.

tonight: helping friend celebrate post-birthday (it's her 40th); going out to dinner with girls; maybe seeing a band later

saturday: sleeping in! (last night was the first night I could sleep without taking medication for this damn sinus infection/cold I've been fighting for close to 3 weeks); saturday night, maybe go to a hockey game. I've been toying with the idea of seeing the 88 at the Doug Fir for $7, but they've got some dress-up theme going on that night, and I'm not sure I want to dress up. What do you guys think? Ditch the dress-up and still go see the 88 for $7???

sunday: if the weather is nice, I'd like to get a ride in. Gotta start prepping for upcoming 40 miler on Feb. 12, and I haven't touched the bike since mid-October.

monday: fuck all y'all... I'll be at work.

Agreed. Dave, do you HAVE to go? I mean, is this some sort of test or requirement before the official nuptials? If I've learned one thing in my married life-- don't force your husband to go to places that are otherwise horrid, regardless of current situation/environment. This not only applies to "wedding fairs" but also to: Michael's craft store, Nordstrom, the mall, piano bars and Duran Duran concerts.

There are ways to be involved in the wedding planning without having to go through nightmare exhibitions like this.

Tonight - Lay low and try and get some rest

Saturday - Seahawks game at Qwest Field.....Go Hawks!

Sunday - Cleaning around the house, will watch the Bears/Panthers game regrardless of what happens Saturday, but will be that much more into it if the Hawks take care of business on Saturday and win.

Of course if that happens then I'll go through another week of being completely distracted and unable to work due to being so psyched up!

SEAHAWKS BABY - Bring on the Bears hopefully - then we can have some more BOARD WARS!

You get in this conundrum, wherein, even if you don't like what you are doing, since you don't see each other all damn week, you kinda just have to grin and bare it, just to spend time together.

Good thing is, I can probably get my mom on the side of NOT going, and then we can do something a little more conducive to me getting drunk ;)

It's one of those things where, even though I don't really care what they pick out, etc...we stil play out this little farce that they want my opinions. It's kinda sweet, in a weird way. But, it's in B'ham, and 3 round trips to that piece in 4 days just ain't in the cards.
