‘Fly-on-the-wall’ says he’s got wind of a new name that the brothers Warner hope to have in the next “Batman” film. She’d play a femme fatale.

“This is the first screen appearance for this character in the Batman films and she has a very close connection with a major character in Nolan’s first Batman movie. She will be out for revenge against Bruce Wayne and Gotham in a major way. As of who the studio is looking at for this role, let’s just say that she is nominated for a SAG, a Golden Globe and is on her way to an Oscar nomination as well. She is also in fact five months pregnant and will be in tip top fighting shape once production begins to roll early next year but not before she throws a few coins in a fountain”.

We’re also told that every actor in town is interested in playing The Joker in the next film. Chris Nolan is pretty keen on getting ‘a name’ though.

“As you know, there are many actors who want the chance to do this character (The most requested Batman character next to Batman himself.) The studio is eyeing a major, major actor and Christopher Nolan himself is said to be just as excited as they are in nabbing him for the role. Who is he? Let’s just say that he has a major film coming out this summer and it’s a sequel to one of his biggest hits. In fact, his performance in the first movie was nominated for an Oscar. YES, they are looking at HIM if he is available for the role and rumor is that he might be interested depending on the script, which is being written right now”.

Got to be Johnny Depp. Nominated for Pirates of the Caribbean, the sequel is out this summer.

They way they laid the ground for this incarnation of the Joker was genius. I'm looking forward to this a *lot*.

The pregnant/"throws a few coins in the fountain" makes me think Rachel Weis (sp?), who's starring in Aranofsky's "The Fountain"...

However, the awards noms/pregnant thing seems to tip more towards Michelle Williams, who's getting the Brokeback supporting noms...

they need to bring back nicholson for the joker. seriously, who's going to best his performance?

i thought the joker tie-in in batman begins was clever, but that they should've waited awhile and brought in some villains that haven't been in a batman film yet. by the way, i totally loved batman begins.

Word on the street is that they were originally going after Sean Penn...

and that Adrian Brody wants the role so bad he'd actually pay to play him...

Both of these guys can over act like a mu fucka...I might even see it just to see Penn ham it up.

But then I remember I hate comic book movies, so maybe I wouldn't, but I am sure everyone will love it, because he may be able to out-overact Nicholson at this point.

I thought Catwoman was the latest.

from wiki:

Batman has had many romantic relationships throughout his various incarnations. They have been with villainesses (Catwoman, Talia al Ghul, and Poison Ivy), reporters (Vicki Vale and Vesper Fairchild), superheroines (Wonder Woman, Batwoman, and Zatanna), an ex-sidekick (Sasha Bordeaux), and others including Silver St. Cloud, Julie Madison, physician Shondra Kinsolving, Dr. Chase Meridian, and nurse Linda Page. With the exception of Catwoman, these relationships have been notable mainly for their short duration; Batman's attraction to Catwoman, however, has been in nearly every version and media the character has appeared in. Authors have gone back and forth over the years as to how Batman manages the 'playboy' aspect of Bruce Wayne's personality; at different times he is variously embracing or fleeing from the women interested in attracting 'Gotham's most eligible bachelor'.

I didn't know he was hittin' Zatanna. good for him.

God, I hope Johnny Depp doesn't play The Joker. I really don't need to see him try to do another eccentric character.

I thought it was going to be Tom Cruise (MI:3, out this summer) until I read the part about the Oscar.

I think Depp or Brody would be a good choice, but fuck Sean Penn with a rusty batarang.
