There are several versions of this. But for today, and with people that would actually sound good together:

Vocals/Rhythm Guitar: Robin Zander
Lead Guitar: Robert Quine
Bass/Vocals: Nick Lowe
Drums: Dave Kling
Keyboards: Steve Nieve

Not all time, but just off the top of my head:

Guitar - David Pajo
Drums - Todd Trainer
Bass - Dude from Dismemberment Plan
Singer - Tunde from TVOTR
Keys - Dude from MMJ

I have no idea what this would sound like.

I was going to put in the dead half of The Who, because both are clearly the greatest to ever play their respective instruments, but then I realized that there probably isn't a better rock vocalist than Daltrey and Townshend is at least a Top 20 all-time guitarist (if not Top 10), so I guess mine has to be all four members of The Who.

Pete Swanson (Yellow Swans)-Synth

Peter Hook would supply the melodic anchor to the music whilst McCabe and Reed would pound your ears with feedback, all the while Jarvis sleazes it up a little.

Using only Scottish musicians this band might be interesting to listen to:

Vocals: Alex Harvey (Sensational Alex Harvey Band)
Guitar: John McGeoch (Siouxsie & The Banshees, Magazine etc)
Bass: Alan Gorrie (Average White Band)
Drums: Ronnie Torrance (Josef K)

There would certainly be musical tension.

There's jail, and then there's a line up of ex-Dolls, Faces, STones, Band and E-Strett Band members.

I don't know if I can ever sleep again after having seen these names in a line-up together.

You sir, I detest.
