i found a 7 song sampler on ss a while ago. with the exception of one song, it is complete garbage. the one song, music is power, for some reason sounds good to me despite it's cheesiness.

it's just hard to believe (and incredibly sad to me) that this is the same man who wrote a man called sun.

I just listened to "All in the Mind", "A Man Called Sun" and "She's A Superstar" :rawk:

I love that breif McCabe solo at the end of "All In The Mind"

Is it better or worse than his other solo albums? Somebody should make him give Kate Radley back to Jason Spaceman

Most likely going to pick up Tapes 'n Tapes full length tonight at Schubas.
I can safely assume it was released in '05 though.

Do reissues/remasters count?

Talking Heads: 77
Talking Heads: More Songs About Buildings and Food
Talking Heads: Fear of Music
Talking Heads: Remain in Light

Yeah, they're DualDiscs. I gave in, couldn't resist. Ripped them the night I got them and made CDRs for each one to play in the car - be VERY careful with your car stereos if you buy these, I almost couldn't get one of them out.

Was this the import version, and if so, how much did you pay?

The domestic (Southern Lord) version doesn't come out until March, right?

So how much better do they sound? I may have to give in and at least buy Fear of Music, myself.

Simply put, they're stunning. I'm not exaggerating - they really sound like brand-new albums. The old versions were so muddy and flat compared to the remasters. There's an incredible amount of detail that has been revealed that it makes albums that you've heard countless times and thought you had memorized sound fresh again. I didn't expect as much from the first two, but there's a lot of natural room-sound that's been uncovered, especially 77.

The bonus tracks on the CD side are mostly non-essential, even for die-hards. The live videos on the DVD side are fun, sound isn't so great but I guess that's what you get for aging film stock. I wish I could report on the 5.1 mixes, but I'm without the equipment. Anyone want to let me borrow it . . . forever?

Thanks for the heads up.

I had no idea he was coming out with a new comedy CD.

I like Norman Blake, so I might need to check this out...Although I might be able to get my fiance to pick it up since she's the folk/bluegrass head.
