I'm looking for some contemporary bands whose music has a sexual vibe to it. Nothing necessarily explicit, but maybe something along the lines of The National, where there's an...energy to it.

Any suggestions?

What's with all these humongous links?

Oh, and I recommend Ray Lamontagne.

Tokens. People need to rename their links.

lovage - music to make love to your old lady by

Lovage is the supergroup of Mike Patton (Faith No More), Nathaniel Merriweather (Handsome Boy Modeling School), Jennifer Charles (Elysian Fields) & Kid Koala. Guests include Damon Albarn, Africa Bambaata & Maseo (De La Soul) Chest Rockwell. Produced by Dan The Automator.

this is super sexy stuff, and if you could get the instrumentals, it would be even better

I second this. Fun CD, especially "Stroker Ace" which has Jennifer Charles.

I've seen this mentioned before and am curious. What it sound like?

I like wordless stuff. Nothing worse than singing oir mouthing the words while, ahem, pumping.

combination of folk, bossa nova, jazz-pop, and indie rock...

Almost like a more accessible bjork.

It's a good album though, and I guess is kind of sexy. I had it in my top 20 initially.

Another suggestion would be Remy Shand's 'The Way I Feel'. It's not really my kind of music, but it seems pretty boudoir oriented.

Damn.

I had Air, Portishead, and fucking Loveage in mind.
You guys beat me to it.

Not the record, but I think Massive Attack's "Blue Lines" is nice.

John Spencer is fun to have sex to, not really to "make love" to someone though...maybe a one nighter.

Everything But The Girl has alot of really good songs that are suitable for a little soft banging.

Tricky's "Maxinquaye" is pretty cool too (for the most part).
