The Brave and the Bold is a collaboration between Will Oldham and Chicago’s Tortoise, interpreting a selection of classic songs, including Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen, Daniel by Elton John, Devo’s That’s Pep, plus other compositions including those by Richard Thompson, Minutemen and Melanie.

Separately and together the artists behind this release have been involved in some of the most exciting and adventurous music of the past decade. Ten years ago it would have been unimaginable to think that these two would be collaborating on music as vital and fun as this. Today, however, they are viewed as innovators and iconoclasts, who have retained an independence and integrity reserved for very few artists. With The Brave & The Bold they've crafted a record that is as fun as it is groundbreaking. A bit like 'The Basement Tapes' as presented in the digital age.

This record is released on Domino on 23rd January
