re: N64:

I've been playing 007 Goldeneye for about 6 years now (I generally only play once or twice a year). I've been stuck on the same level for about 3 years. I forget the name of it - but it's the one where at the end of it, you are in a big control room with a huge screen on the wall, and about 70 kajillion enemy soldiers are entering the room all at once, shooting at you. You are supposed to be protecting whatsername, as well as your own ass. I haven't figured out how to survive this mess. She usually buys it first, and I follow shortly after.

Any tips?

Damn, I know the level you're talking about -- the Goldeneye computer lab in Cuba.....I was just able to shoot the bejesus out of them, taking minimal damage. I think I just stood in front of her because, like most AI of that generation, she was a stupid ho who got shot all the time. O_o

Damn, I sort of miss Goldeneye now....they never really did nail a Bond movie like that again....

Transylvania, Ghouls and Ghosts, and Punch out were all awesome as well.

You know...

Multiplayer with Proximity Mines....

I am on some Jack the Ripper-type shit.

Just sayin'.

(Oh, if you haven't figured it out yet, I become very, very belligerent when it comes to video games. That's why I can't play Burnout with my friends anymore. :( )

I guess I'm "no one" because that is my favorite game of all time (although I'm only familiar with the arcade and NES versions). I only lost one 2-player match in my life, back in '91 to my friend Bryan.

I remember for, I guess my 9th or 10th birthday, my aunt took me to Toys R Us and let me choose a game to buy. For some reason completely unbeknownst to me now, I bought and still own this:

The gist is you are the Cheetohs mascot, Chester Cheetah, trapped in a zoo. You need to find pieces of your motorcycle so you can escape. And the instruction manual was writting by him, with all sorts of gnarly phrases, dude. Far out!

My favorite would have to be Illusion of Gaia. The story still stands as one of the best and most memorable. It's gameplay is lifted from Soul Blazer, one of the greatest and most innovative Action RPG's of all time. Graphically it stands toe to toe with A Link to the Past, though instead of focusing on cool gadgets, Gaia focuses on collecting souls that open up passageways and garner new abilites.

Games such as Secret of Evermore and Terranigma (produced by the same crew as Gaia, though not released in the states due to it's late release and overall lack of American interest) would follow with better graphics but they lack the pure awesomness Gaia had.

Games i still play via download:

Secret of Evermore
Terranigma
Blackthorne (a follow up to games like Out of this World and Flashback with more focus on action and killing stuff)
Super Mario World
Super Mario All Stars
Legend of Zelda
Super Metroid
Tales of Phantasia (a very unique action RPG with heavy Japanese tendencies, I've got a dubbed version but am not sure if it was ever actually released in the states)
Castlevaina IV
Demon's Crest (overlooked side scroller that I think would appeal to fans of Castlevania and Super Metroid)
Final Fantasy II- VI
Mega Man X I- III
Soul Blazer
Mario RPG
F Zero
Pilotwings

I'm trying to get back into:
Chronotrigger
Super Punch Out
Secret of Mana
Castlevania X

Fans of the Super Nintendo should seriously check out getting a Game Boy Advance either actual or emulated as many classics were either ported over directly or have been the model of current games.

Mainly:
Metroid Zero Mission
Metroid Fusion
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
(some would argue the aforementioned are more related to the Playstation's greatest game Castlvania: Symphony of the Night but I would argue that even that was inspired by Super Metroid which I would consider the best overall action game in existence, both for what it did at the time and for the greatness that followed in its wake)
A Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (a serious contender for Best Overall Game of 2005)
Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls
Final Fantasy IV Advance

Um... the last video game I owned was Intellivision.
That was the shit back in '81!
