No matter how inspiring his music is, one of the most inspiring things about Chasny is how inspired he is. I love what he has to say about other people's art. Great interview.

That was an enjoyable read. Then again I am probably biased as in my self contained snow globe of a world the global hierarchy pretty much reads as God>Fahey>Chasny and that's about it (excluding my wife and kid of course).

Seriously though, every new project Chasny appears on impresses more and more and his comments about the new Six Organs record have me beyond excited for the next step he sounds like he's going to take in his continual advancement of psychadelic music.

I've actually been going backwards through his catalog a bit lately and am really digging that Residual Echoes record I picked up last week. Good stuff and I'm a bit disappointed it took me this long to get around to it.

All this reminds me, I still owe you a mix don't I, Ish. I completely forgot about it until now. I'll try to get that out to you this week before I ship my computer back to the mainland.

I read most of this yesterday. Seems like a pretty cool guy.

I can't wait to hear the next Comets and Six Organs albums.

I don't know if it's fact, but a good friend who follows WWVV informed me Chasny & Toth are to collaborate and release material sometime in '06.

Enjoying your mix, kochalka. Prosit.

Preferably, it'll be a huge slab of fuck noise, as are his wishes.

Kochalka, I'd completely forgot about your offer of a mix. At your convenience, if you wish.

What's "Residual Echoes" and can you send it this way?

Glad you're enjoying it.

The rumors of Toth and Chasny working together have been floating around for awhile and I've still seen nothing definitive from either artist, so I'm skeptical, but still hopeful. Given the demise of Polyamory and Chasny's mention of his label putting some things out this year I can't think of a better release for him to start things off with.

It would be nice, I think Ethan Miller would like to see it take that turn as well. Comets pulled off a nice little bridge between standard guitar psych and noise on their collab with Burning Star Core. If that record was any indication of what's to come then shit's going to be brilliant.

As for Residual Echoes, they are another one of the Santa Cruz psych outfits. They're real close to a Comets sound. Chasny has never officially taken credit for playing on their first record but there's a few tracks that his guitar is unmistakable on, and he has acknowledged that he plays with the guys when he goes back to Santa Cruz, so you can kind of make of it what you will, but I'm thouroughly convinced he's on the s/t. (Their second album Phoenician Flu... is kind of hit and miss for what it's worth)

I can send it your way later today.

Amen (Burning Star Core).

Thank you (Residual Echoes).
