hey could someone fill me in? i missed tonight's episode
The Rory side of things:
Logan makes many extravagant gestures to win Rory back, including going to visit Lorelai (as well as tons of flowers and gifts, including renting a coffee cart and attendant to follow her around for the day,) who as it turns out gives him a sealed letter to give to Rory when he confronts her. Rory finally relents and lets him in, reads the letter in silence, laughs and agrees with whatever is in it a few times, and won't tell him what it says. But she agrees to meet him for dinner at some time later on.
The Lorelai side of things:
After being awakened at 3 am by church bells, the town gathers in the town hall where Taylor talks via webcam about the winter-festival emergency - he won't be there because he's snowed in somewhere and can't oversee it. This sets up a really stupid story idea where Lorelai has a booth with that damned dog as the Doggy Swami, reading people's fortunes. Stupid. Luke goes to visit his daughter (Anna, I think?) who wants to come to his diner to see him work. Luke still hasn't told Lorelai about her, and when she gets caught up with the festival, he finds another excuse not to tell her - she won't be by his diner for the day so he figures he can wait until later. Obviously, she wanders by the diner at some point where she is told by Anna herself that she's Luke's daughter. Lorelai is obviously upset, but it's pretty clear that this isn't being set up as a relationship-destroying event.
Zack is also extremely jealous of any man around Lane. I'm guessing they'll be getting back together at some point. Whoopee.
Am I the only one annoyed by the dog and Anna? The dog especially - it's just a stupid comic diversion that flatlines every week. I wish death upon the dog every time he's on screen. Maybe Anna will work out okay, but at the moment I just find her grating and precocious right now. Last night I wished death on both Anna and the dog together, like a bloody freak-out attack where the dog rips out Anna's throat and Luke crushes the dog's skull with his boot.
