He IS 'Clem Snide'.
I would start with 'Your Favorite Music' over 'Ghost of Fashion' only because the songs are better on YFM, but overall GOF rocks a bit harder. That said both are worthy entries into the world of Eef B. If you want to dig a bit further the first CS record 'You Were a Diamond' contains one of Eef's best songs - 'Nick Drake Tape'

I'd certainly be interested in hearing his solo reckid.

Not to be nitpicky, but do you mean this in a literal sense? I was unimpressed with their last few records so I haven't been paying all that much attention to them. I thought though that they used to at least have a regular lineup even if Eef was lead singer, songwriter and guitarist. I was pretty impressed with Brendan Fitzpatrick, their bassist, and his side work when I saw them a few years back.

I like Ghost of Fashion a lot more than Your Favorite Music oddly for the same reason you seem to prefer Your Favorite Music -- the songwriting I think is much stronger. Joan Jett of Arc is such a great tune. I agree though that those are the two to start. I thought You Were a Diamond was mostly a snoozer by comparison and didn't end up keeping it.

sorry, no. not at all.
I think of them essentially as Eef + cast.
Jason Glasser (cello, violin) also plays in the NYC band 'Champale' that released a pretty great record 'Simple Days' in 2001.

As to which record is better.....it's all preference my friend.
FWIW - G.O.F. is damn good, I just like the other one more.

I'm a pretty big fan, I have seen them play here several times in Lincoln. I am pretty sure the last couple shows have had the same line-up. The last time they were here, they allowed people to sing with them, which sort of sucked.
I had no idea he was releasing a solo album.

I was pretty disappointed with last year's album, End of Love, but I still dig Ghost of Fashion a lot.

Dude lives in Nashville now. He plays at The Basement here fairly often. Is it any better than any other run of the mill indie-pop?
