I'm looking to pick up some good earplugs for concerts (it's about time). I've used the foam ones, but I'd like to get something a little more hi-tech. Can I find these at a store, or do I need to get them online? I'm going to an Of Montreal show next Friday and would like to have them before that.

They're not the "most" high tech but you can pick up the reusable AOSafety ones at Home Depot. That's what I use.

I still use AO Safety Disposable E-A-R Plugs, which can be purchased at any Home Depot. It's almost an art trying to get them in your ear, but they're probably the most comfortable earplugs for long-term protection.

If you want to clean your earwax out before you use them, you can get a plastic pick tool at CVS designed for earwax removal. Q-Tips should never be used in your ear for any purpose.

i use debrox. it's a little annoying at first, but you get used to it. my doctor says to never put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear.

Yeah, I figured I could find some there, but was trying to avoid sunset for obvious reasons. I think I found a few places in Torrance that have those ER20s, but if I can't get them there, I'll definitely try Guitar Center.

That's my weapon of choice, too.

On an unrelated note, I think I'm bowling on Sunday if you're interested.

You should be able to get these at Guitar Center -- they're the closest I have of all the different earplugs I have to being flat, frequency-wise.

I thought they looked identical and An online reviewer of the Hearos plug says 'These are Etymotic Research ER20 earplugs repackaged by Hearos.' Not sure what colors Hearos come in. You used to be able to get er20s in 'clear' if you are trying to be the least visible.
