you can build your own boot at timberland.com, and I built you a bitching pair of tall black women's boots with a white collar, aluminum stitching, white/silver laces, black unitsole, and silver hardware.

Vicious.

too bad I can't post the images...

thanks for all of the options, however, i really am in love with the doc martens. my mom doesn't want me to buy them though because she doesn't want her daughter coming off as "goth"

fucking cunt

i'm going to buy them and wear them after i leave the house and hide them when i'm at home.
i've fallen in love.

she said "i hate everything you wear already, but you're definitely not getting those when you're living under my roof. no daughter of mine is going to look goth"

I guarantee people here have some incriminating apparel lurking in the back of their closet that ain't half as bad as some big ass Docs.

FESS UP: Who here has some old Cross Colours or Z. Cavaricci pants with the two belts?

What a...what a...martinet. My mom said something like that in the middle of one of our arguments. "Why do you have so many black T-shirts?" Gee thanks mom, now, on top of all the other lowly things you think about me, I dress ugly, too.

As an alternative -- I got myself a pair of army boots from a surplus store. Uncomfortable, yet durable.

I don't understand why she hates everything I wear. Well, I do. She dresses conservatively, and I don't. I wear dresses and skirts a lot, but I like color and pattern, but I always match. Or I always try to. A lot of the time I wear band shirts and jeans, though... I don't know. She always has to have something to bitch about though.

i didn't say she liked them, though.

No, I don't care. I don't dress to piss my mom off, i'd be so much happier if I could get dressed and go out without her telling me how awful I look.
She thinks I dress the way I do because "i'm an artist and I have to look this way" but really I think I dress really cute and i'm so happy with the way I appear these days. It's taken me a long time to figure out a look that makes me feel good and is comfortable, and suits me well. So i'm happy.
I just wish she'd be happy too. I went through a lot of phases, and now I just wear whatever. I don't know. Oh well.
You can't always get what you want.

I am infatuated with the boots though and I really would like to purchase them.

Only teasin' :)

I like 'em, but they were hip when I was a hipster kid and I don't mind setting off gaydar at every turn. YMMV.

i don't get why parents care so much about what their kids wear.
don't sweat the small stuff.

my daughter always picked her clothes out and when she was small--nothing ever matched. so what?

the only thing i care about is if the clothes are dirty and smell bad. sometimes my son will wear the same pants 3-4 days and they've got ketchup and all kinds of crap all over them. that's just being a pig and i really can't stand that.

I'll wear pants 2 or so times in a row, but if I spill anything on them I definitely wash before wearing, so it's not like i'm dirty.
She just doesn't like my style. When I wear certain clothes she likes she'll say "Oh wow, you look normal for a change"
She'll tell me nobody likes my clothes and if they say they do they're probably just trying to be nice.
I don't get her. Let me be happy, goddamnit. I hate being put down.
