I had a friend in college named Drew. Introduced himself as Drew, parents called him Drew, everyone called him Drew. Except his girlfriend. Andrew. Another one: not Josh, but Joshua.

I do that just to distinguish myself from others.

Dan is always Daniel. Andy is always Andrew. Josh is always Joshua.

I have some people call me 'Pete' -- it doesn't bother me. Pete, Peter, or Dusty, I'll answer to any of them. L, my roommate in college called me 'Petrovski'. He even accidentally said it on the phone to my dad, once, '...oh, how you doing Mr. Petrovski...I mean...' [i](blush).
