By the time I go 300 deep out of the 6000 songs I have on my 40GB Ipod, I can GUARANTEE I'll routinely hear at least 4-5 songs off of the same 9 song album. There are different albums emphasized each time I shuffle, but once it's on a particular record, it won't get off of it. Did they cut corners to make the shuffle work faster? No way it's purely random.

I'm fucking tired of the Crazy World of Arthur Brown and Straight Outta Compton EVERY OTHER SONG...

most annoying thing about ipod. it seems to select about 25 albums at a time to do the shuffle from. annoying as fuck.

I have a JVC CD 200-disc changer at home, and I swear to God, there are CDs in there from years ago that I still haven't heard. I open the book w/ the corresponding CD covers and gape at the music that lies untouched.

So it's not just the iPods.

Edit: And where's my Paper Airplane Pilots CD?? I ordered it yesterday, for cryin' out loud. :(

my ipod LOVES to play the Stones. Not that its a bad thing (and I'm the genius who put EVERY fucking Stones album on it), but I also have tons of other stuff as well (at least 15 Dylan albums for instance) and Dylan comes up.....well randomly.....

but damned if every 4th or 5th song isnt a Stones song.

Also seems to really like Apples In Stereo.

My Zen is the same. You can guarentee if you get one song off an album an other two of the next ten will be from the same one.

my ipod has a hard-on for Built to Spill. It made me hate everything i own by that band.

plenty of times I'll START the shuffle and then hear 2 songs of the same album back to back. this happened last night, now that I think about it.

When I had my old IRiver almost full, I'd hear about 3 Immortal Technique songs an hour.

my iPod only plays the most popular single from any given album. It's really really weird.

For example, the last 5 songs were:

Von Bondies - C'mon C'mon
Interpol - Obstacle 1
Sarah Blasko - Always Worth It
Scissor Sisters - Take Yo Mama
Van Morrison - Astral Weeks
