The story he has been telling is essentially the fall of Matt Murdock, and really it should end with him in jail or dead. Either way, all the shit that's happened can't just be ignored.
Well, it has ended with him in jail so far. It's just a matter of waiting and seeing what the next guy does.
I don't know. Maybe it's four decades worth of comics absorbed into my pores that, even at the age of 20, I'm still fascinated and obsessed with chronlogy and continuity.
I get majorly annoyed when there's three Spider-Man titles on the go at one time and in one he's living with his aunt, in one he's with his wife, and in one she's away on a photo shoot across the world.
Without continuity, a lot of the events matter even less. Sure, Captain Marvel and Hawkeye can die dramatically. But if the next comic title is a brand new one with no relation to the past one then who cares? The new series can have them walking around completely fine with the other storyline having no importance at all.
I like how the Marvel Universe functions as a fully real (or as close as possible) universe where a villain can show up in one title and be defeated by one hero, then be shown breaking out of jail in another title, his being there a result of that. I like how the Wrecker and his gang can get their asses whipped by the Runaways in their title then, when they run into the New Avengers in their title, Spider-Woman and Luke Cage can laugh at them about this.
