Seriously, its too early even for me but Pat Forde has already unleashed a preliminary Top 25. This may only appeal to misguided true believers and stone junkies like Oldbullee, fightingliberal , and Rick Derris but its an interesting read anyways.....

I've seen it, he has Nebraska as #20 and thinks the Big 12 North will be a liability for us. I tend to see Nebraska as the WV of 2006, our schedule is relatively easy except for games against the last two National Champs. I think the Huskers should dominate the division and basically win every other game on their schedule. They really should finish 10-2 to prove they are still improving and no worse than 8-4 to show they are still on the right track and maintaining their talent level.

What's Colorado look like next year? They come to Athens to open up the season (I know, UGA plays a decent out of conference opponent--SHOCKING);

Colorado has a new coach and will have a new qb. They usually play a tough non conference slate compared to the rest of the Big 12, and do well on the road, but never win those games.
Nebraska killed them 30-3 at Boulder, and they lost three straight games, so I wouldn't think much of them.

Never to early. WV will not finish #1.

Your impending nuptials have taken care of that. And, you know that come autumn, you'll be spending Football Saturdays at the nursery picking out bulbs to plant so that, come spring '07, yours and FEMGAR's planters and gardens will be flush with flora.

No GA Bulldogs for you!

I'll cut you! FEMGAR, as a Bama fan, luh Fall Saturdays more than most busters round these parts. She's tight like that.

I watch college football. I also watch the NFL, just with a passing eye.

Baseball and basketball? Naah.

It's fucking January, and there is such a thing as too early. That said, no Tennessee? I'm making my prediction for a huge comeback year; I think they'll end up mid-teens, even. Watch for them to kill coming off that clusterfuck of a season.

Interesting note on the UGA-Colorado game.

This past season Dan Hawkins, now the CU coach, then with Boise State, opened his season by getting spanked by the Dawgs. I feel that a repeat of that is HIGHLY likely.

I am calling BS on the following teams being ranked above the SEC Champion Bulldogs.

Oklahoma
Michigan
Oregon
Cal
Louisville

I firmly believe UGA has gotten to a point where we don't rebuild we reload. I do recall that this year was supposed to be a down year. (As was 2002)

I'm a HOMER so what!

Bullshit.

I'd like to give out my weekly Buster award to Pat Forde for having WVU #1. Flying Rabbit you seem like good people so present company excluded, I hope all WVU fans die of black lung. My reasons are of course a direct result of my Sugar Bowl experience. I have taken a vow to not only hate their football team but the entire state forever. FOREVER.

Auburn, Florida, and LSU will be the teams to beat in the SEC next year. People shouldn't sleep on UGA either. Pat Forde seems to think that the reason UGA won't do as well next year is the QB position. Granted we will have some inexperience at the position but I GUARANTEE that the QB position won't be why we won't win games. Mark Richt is a brilliant QB coach and there's a reason why Quarterback has been the most consistent position during his tenure. Whoever starts for us will be good and well coached.

We aren't losing a game until 2046.

I'd take Oregon over Georgia for next year, if their QB can stay healthy and the Pac-10 remains as soft as it essentially was this year, I'd say they have a good shot at being unbeaten. Alot better than Georgia does, no offense to the Dawgs, but they are the team you always hopes turns the corner and wins the big games, but they don't or some how lose some gimme game and remain an also ran. They are sort of like Nebraska in the 80's.
I'd rather be in their situation than Nebraska's right now, but I'd expect the Huskers to have a more satisfying season next year than the Dawgs.

Listen--no one was more surprised at the team that showed up than me.

At least three of the big boys including the quarterback, but a lot of the skill positions will be back. 13 may be a bit high, but ranked and Holiday or Outback isn't too much of a stretch.

LSU's offense should be ridiculously good. Our defense has alot of question marks mainly on the defensive line. But we've been in the top ten in defense for the last 5 years so I'm not expecting too much of a drop. Laron Landry coming back was huge too. The SEC East should be intertesting. Not sure what to make of Florida's chances. If I predicted the SEC...
1. LSU
2. Auburn
3. Arkansas
4. Alabama
5. Mississippi St.
6. Ole Miss

1. UGA
2. South Caroline
3. Florida
4. Tennessee
5. Vandy
6. Kentucky
